  1. Add roles to the main page for a contact

    Instead of having the redundant "Servicing and "Writing" advisor on the main page under contact details, put the Roles in these spots. Because the roles are associated with workflows, It is important to have them in an easy to see place instead of on a random page that is easily forgettable.

  2. Automatically fill the state and city based on zip code

    Our tax program (Pro Series) allows you to enter the street address then skips to the zip code and automatically fills the state and city based on the zip code you entered. Huge time saver! :)

  3. Tracking maiden names and name changes.

    A long-time client gets married, you make the changes in Redtail, but you know them by their previous name. It would be helpful to have a way to pull them by their maiden names, without having to hyphenate it for the sake of being able to pull it. A way to link a maiden name, that is no longer a legal name, to the new married name.

  4. Allow customization of "Written Agreement Review" types

    Would like to have the ability to edit names of the written agreements and add more types of agreements/reviews.

  5. Enable user defined fields to have a customizable order

    I think it is key to enable user defined fields to have a customizable order, not just alphabetical. This would allow users to format and better fit UDF's to their specific needs. I know that we are evaluating other options for our CRM needs because of the lack in customization with UDF's, if there were more options on this front, it would allow us to stay with Redtail.

  6. Trusted Contact

    Under the contact record, can we please add fields for "Trusted Contacts"? We need to record the name, address, phone, and email of Trusted Contacts in a way that is easy to find. We are currently adding it to the "Important Information", but having a specific field in the contact info would be more helpful. It would also be nice if there was a checkbox somewhere that you could click if Trusted Contact is "declined", as this is something required going forward.

  7. Contact Permission Checkbox

    When adding Contact Permissions, it would be much easier to select what users/teams need to have permission with a checkbox list than to click "Add", select one, click "Add Permission," then go do it all over again for as many need to be assigned.

  8. Annual Review COMPLETED Section on Main Client Contact Page

    Please add a box that can be checked off or written in free form to detail when the annual review is completed.

    I know the "Know your client" section has a "Client Review" feature, but that just alerts me for the next review.

    It would be super beneficial to have a place on the main contact screen for a particular client that shows if we have completed the annual review or not. This will allow us to quickly glance and see during our other conversations if we have completed this documented annual review.

  9. add a designated beneficiary area for beneficiary information.

    Memberships isn't good enough. Adding beneficiaries to individual accounts is too time consuming. What I'm surprised Redtail doesn't offer is a designated area for beneficiary information (like a tab under Know Your Client). For our office, beneficiaries usually are the same across all accounts, minus a couple here and there. It would be nice if we had a specific region that would have the following:

    Beneficiary Name
    Beneficiary Type (Primary, Contingent, etc)
    Relationship
    Date of Birth
    Social Security Number
    Percentage

    As well as, a place to add accounts manually AND link accounts, not one or the other. It would be…

  10. indicate the client's time zone on the contact page and in activities

    When speaking with clients to schedule meetings we need to know what their time zone is. If they are out of our area we need to be able to tell them the schedule in their time zone (and what that means in # of hours difference) so we can provide better service. It should also show on the calendar when we do have an activity scheduled for that client so, again, we can be precise and helpful. Our calendar preferences would be the default time zone so that Redtail can calculate the number of hours difference for us.

  11. Add an option for name pronunciation

    We have several clients with unusual or difficult to pronounce names. Right now, we keep information on pronunciation in the Important Info section, but it would be really convenient to have this displayed more prominently or closer to the name on the top of the contact record.

  12. Can you link a contact's work address with that of their employer?

    We would like the address of a business to display as the work address of a linked contact.

  13. RMD Ages in Contact Information

    Someone just emailed me asking about putting the client age in years and months (78.8 years) so they can see the client's exact age for, example, taking a withdrawal without penalty. They suggested it would be in the Contact Details under the DOB. Thanks!

  15. Update clients contact photo based off of their linked social media website

    I think it would be great to have the ability for our client's contact record photo be updated to whatever the image they have on their connected social media website. For those who have multiple social media websites, I feel it would be easy to give the advisor a choice on which photo to have system default to use.

  16. make it possible to duplicate a contact record

    often a contact has been in our RT database as an individual then when he/she becomes a client or prospect, we want to create a record for the spouse. it would be nice to right click or select an option to duplicate record (the inverse of merge records).

  17. Date of Death and Termination Date do not show on Personal Profile. Would be helpful for archiving records.

    This would be helpful when archiving records. It is reasonable to delete inactive and deceased clients from Redtail.

  18. Be able to add multiple UDFs at one time to a Contact

    Allow person to add multiple UDFs at one time to contacts. Right now you can add only 1 at a time, and that is very time consuming if you need to add several to each contact.
