Calendly integration--prevent tasks created in Redtail from synching with Google calendar
Calendly integration is GENIUS, however, a key issue with Redtail’s Calendly integration is that Redtail activities categorized as "Task" flow to the Google calendar and appear as a calendar event. NO tasks should flow to Google; Google should be a pass-thru only from Calendly to Redtail’s calendar.
Our business requirement: a solution where clients and prospects can see our calendar availability and schedule/re-schedule their own meetings with us; this is a very high business value to achieving internal efficiencies for our practice and for the client in being self-enabled and increasing their convenience.
User scenario: Most Redtail users, I would estimate, create many tasks a day. Such tasks as "Rebalance Bob Smith's Roth IRA #1234", and "send a copy of Sally Mae's Trust document to Acme & Associates Estate Attorneys". Google calendar has no business knowing these details; tasks should not flow to Google calendar. Redtail’s work-around is to put client-specific information in the "linked notes" section of an activity, which Redtail tells me does not flow thru to Google. Yet this is a clunky solution, requiring the user to dumb-down the subject and description fields and have to click-down a further level in creating each activity.
Redtail can’t confirm whether Google’s calendar's security achieves a compliance-level standard, but it sounds dubious. Tightening up the Calendly integration would be very helpful. Or better yet, releasing within Redtail, a similar client-scheduling solution....
Redtail’s Product Owner has read the suggestion and there is some internal discussion needed in order to determine next steps.
This suggestion is remaining open and can continue to gather votes and comments!

100% agree. For many (most), tasks are reminders to do something when able. Not an event scheduled at a specific time. I'm assuming "Calendly integration" is actually Retriever Cloud to Google to Calendly. With Desktop Retriever you can select whether you want tasks to sync to Outlook or not. And if you did sync tasks, they would go to the tasks section of Outlook, not the calendar. Redtail - why take the option to sync tasks away with Cloud Retriever? Give us the option to (or not to) sync tasks...better yet, also give us the option of syncing to calendar or tasks (if syncing to Outlook).
