  2. Retain Search Term

After completing a search, retain the searched term in the search box (like Google does), so I can see what I searched for or quickly correct typos instead of having to retype the entire term. Thank you.

  3. Search for nearby clients list or map view

Ex: Agent has to drive 1 hour away for an appointment that will only take 10-15 minutes and would like to make better use of his time, Redtail should have a function that allows Agent to see other clients in that area so that he can attempt to schedule multiple appointments in the same area easily. Now he is able to meet a client for his annual review meeting on his way back rather than driving all the way back out there in 2 weeks"

It would be nice if Redtail had a way to find other clients that live…

  4. Search Bar Automatic (No Enter)

search bar, when you type in a name you have to hit enter. Just have it automatically bring them up and not have to hit enter at all. Hitting enter every time is frustrating!

  5. Using Filters in Contacts Search or Advanced Search

When Searching for a contact, also in Advanced Search, it would be nice to be able to use any of the available filters when searching for a contact in either of these search attempts.

Currently the filters only work when browsing for the contact's last name.

  9. Pin BUSINESS/EMPLOYER to Top of List when searching for Employer and Employees

When searching a business and its employees, please PIN the BUSINESS/EMPLOYER to the TOP of that list. When companies have 100's of employees (401k plans for example), it's very time consuming scrolling thru employees just to find the actual Business/Employer.

  10. Hierarchical aggregation of account types

I would like Redtail to adopt a hierarchical methodology to aggregate activity types. This feature would be similar to how Quickbooks rolls up sub accounts into a main account. I am an IAR and thus the list of 43 account types has little use for me as I don't sell any of those products. We could then group them as products and not have to scroll through them every time.

  11. Add ability to move/drag List and QuickList search criteria strings up and down the entire search statement.

Add ability to move/drag List and QuickList search criteria strings up and down the entire search statement. Currently, if you need to insert another criteria group, you cannot do it systematically, as it appears at the bottom of the entire statement. This makes it difficult to track logical search progressions with new criteria strings appearing at the bottom and no way to move them up or down.

  13. Better Search Abilities

I would suggest making an improvement to the search field. Currently, when we are doing a search and we want to exclude certain contacts we have to enter the exclusion repetitively. We have to enter it for each lookup category as there are not any Grouping abilities. For example, if i want to lookup my A, B and C clients, but I only want the main contact (not the spouse) I have to exclude the "Spouse of Client" in all three sections. Adding a Group Add/exclude that applies to all of the previous search criteria would be very helpful.

  14. Enhance the capabilities of the "Like" operand for Advanced Searches.

Currently the 'Like' operand is intended to be used with 'Values' that are being typed in, not selected from a drop-down menu. So it doesn't pull any results when selecting from a drop-down "Value" menu. Many offices use a number of values containing the same words. So, currently we're required to use the "Equal To" operand which makes for excessively long entries for search criteria with several different levels. "Like" worked with drop-down "value" menu options in previous versions of Redtail, so this should be revisited to save us all some valuable time when setting up Quicklists and other searches.

  15. Add Primary Phone & Primary Email to Advanced Search

I am looking for clients with a phone number but not a primary phone number and an email address but no primary email address. I was able to do this with address. I thought this option was under primary contact till I realized that was a different field altogether.

  16. When linking a contact, let us search BOTH the first AND last name

When you are linking contacts to an activity, in a note, etc, RedTail should let us search using both the first and last name as currently it only let's us use one or the other. It's extremely time consuming when you're looking up for example John Smith, where we have 100 Smith's and a 100 John's.

  17. alphabetize information in any column from within a searched list

in the old version of redtail, i could alphabetize any column from within a list, simply by clicking on the header/title at the top of that column. similar to an excel spread sheet. that feature is now gone in the new version of redtail. very frustrating considering we used that feature a lot in hand selecting contacts for a campaign. yes i know we can use filters to narrow down a list. yes i know that i can search by status or by catergory. i dont want to see a small list. i want to see the entire list and…

  19. Advanced Search

In the "advanced Search" filters, it would be most user friendly to include the ability to add parentheses around logical connectives to more intuitively command the account information. I'll give an example:

I stratify clients into tag groups A Clients, B Clients, C Clients, and D Clients. There are several without any tag group, and I'm looking for a list of current clients not in Qualified Plans status, who don't have one of these tags. The Logical operand is easiest explained as:

    ( Contact-Status-Equal To-Client AND Contact-Category-Not Equal To- Qualified Plan ) AND( Tag Group-Tag-not equal to A-Client AND Tag…
