  1. Notes report needs to be alphabetized by last name, and not first name. We do everything by last name.

    When we print the notes report, we like to have it printed in alphabetical order by last names, not first names. Could you go back to using that method please?

  2. Notes template

    Being able to add check off boxes to a Notes Template, this would help the user check off items that have been completed.

  3. It would be nice to have a way to record notes that aren't tied to a specific contact.

    It would be nice to be able to add a note that is not tied to a contact.

  4. Pinned note(s) show first on main Contact Screen Note Box

    I would like to see the pinned note(s) staying at the top of the quick view notes section located on the main contact screen. As of now you have to go into the contact and then click on the Notes section to the left to see any pinned notes listed at the top.

  5. Add filter to Recently Added Notes (Notes Dashborad) and Latest Notes on Contact Page

    Redtail currently has the ability to use filters on the Contact Notes page, but I would like to be able to use the same filter on the Recently Added Notes/Notes Dashboard page and the Latest Notes section on a Contact's page. Both of those places show the completed activities mixed in with the notes and it gets very convoluted. Some important notes get lost in the shuffle if there are many completed activities.

  7. Add more details in the account drop down in notes. Please add tax qual type and product.

    When attaching account to a Note, the account details don't include the Tax Qual Type, which shows us if it's a Roth, IRA, etc. so we can't tell which account it is. It would be helpful to have the tax qual type and the product as well. Quite often I put detailed info on the account in the Product field (i.e., Indiv, Indiv TOD, Indiv Annuity, etc.).

  9. Tally count of COMMENTS BY USER

    Your tally on NOTES BY USER shows the number of notes entered by each user. Love it. Any way you can keep a tally count on COMMENTS BY USER?

    Why do notes look differently when printed? When adding notes I format as I would a letter or article. This means there are paragraphs. When I print notes, all of the sentences are jammed together. This did not happen in the prior version of Red Tail. In order to make a long note readable, I have to copy and paste it in to a Word document and then edit the note so it is readable. YOU ARE MAKING WORK FOR ME.

  11. copy and paste formatting into notes

    (Pasting from word, etc then printing out the note later) It is better however there are still many extra spaces generated and id love to see exact formatting including multiple columns. Seems to me if you put the left side details in the footer there will be more room for the note itself too. (see attached for comparison of original to RT output)

  12. Set a Note Category as default view in filters instead of just Note Type

    Its Great that we now can default what the note Type is in the CRM from the preferences but I would like to see the ability to also do this for the Note Categories as well instead of just the Note Types.

    Would like the ability change the rows and columns after the initial table has been created in the notes section of the CRM.

    Currently when a note has already been copied to another contact, if you put a comment on the note it does not copy to the other contact that was already copied to the note. When a comment is made under a note that is copied to other contacts, that comment should automatically copy to the copied contact on the note

    I would like to be able to set a global setting for all CRM contacts that will allow me to decide what detail I am going to see. As an example, I would like just "notes" and "Activities" as a default

  18. It makes no sense, and it creates several problems, duplicating Notes, completed activities.


    1. It serves no purpose to duplicate in Notes, Completed Activities.

    2. If you insist on doing it, then one problem is that the Notes will get sorted on the date the activity is completed, which records things out of sequence if you record the completion of the activity after you actually complete it. I have had to edit activities, which requires that I uncomplete the activity, then save and complete later. The note, then is out of sequence, now, in the notes section. Also, when the activities involves more than one contact, when you mark that it is complete, it will…

  20. Action to delete and recreate a note.

    You do not allow notes to be edited, but you do allow deletion. None-the-less, it is common to need to edit a note for some reason, yet very cumbersome to copy the note, delete the note, paste it and then edit it.

    How about an action on a note that deletes and recreates the note, which is editable since it's a new note.

    Frankly, I think you should just allow a note to be edited but track the changes. It's just as compliant. Barring that, this seems a reasonable solution.
