RED Tail Imaging
In Imaging it is time consuming to scroll all the way through and find a client's file.
It would be helpful if you could click on a letter of the alphabet and thus limit your scrolling time.
The search function is not super useful either as you have to know the specific name and then it brings up all their files and you have to scroll again to go to their main list of folders.10 votes -

when entering an account # you go directly to that account, not the person's name 1st

Tag group - most recent at the top and on the first page
It would be nice to have the Tag Group list auto sorted so the most recent is at the top of the first page, not list in alphabetical order. Or better yet, the ability to sort according to the existing columns.

Add a feature to search all data ever entered in Redtail by keyword
This would function like "Spotlight" on the Mac so that you can find anything you've ever entered in Redtail by searching by any word.

permissions
Make Permissions and Roles a searchable field. As Administrator I should be able to search my database to determine all client set to certain permissions or roles. Currently they are only available as reports which are not eligible for bulk actions.

advanced search improvement with parenthesis and searchable quicklists
I want the ability to search with quicklists in addition to other criteria. I may have built a complex quicklist and I want to not repeat creating that all the time so I need to be able to pull those up. Also, allow for parenthesis so I can make a more specific search. I want to be able to search Status=Client & (category=active or category= inactive). Now I would have to search for (Status=Client & category= active) or ('Status=Client & category=inactive). And the parenthesis are forced. So instead of a simple three criteria search, I end up with four. And…

search by status
we have a large data base. When i type in "miller" for example, I have 50+ names pop up. I would love it if i could filter out the junk...the ex-clients, the deceased. This should be a preference option

Combine Email/Call/Text Logs
Instead of adding call and text information to the notes, it would be great to have one tab for logging of all communication with clients that could be filtered out between emails, calls, and texts. We have a text-heavy clientele, and we're new to Redtail but already finding that text logging is bogging down our notes list.

UDFs should be able to be used in the advanced search feature
It would be helpful to be able to filter by a UDF when running a quicklist instead of having to create a custom export template.

Quick Filter for Search Bar
Have a toggle beside the Search Bar that you can filter for Active Clients only. More often than not, I am searching for an Active Client and my search list is cluttered with deceased clients, inactive clients, and/or prospects.

Filter Archived Contact Methods out of Advanced Search
Currently if I create a search criteria for contacts with email addresses, contacts with archived email addresses and no non-archived email address will show up in the search results.
We archive email addresses to clean up the contact record while preserving the Email Archiving history for that inactive address, so deleting them out would not be the preference.
I could also see a problem that could come up with searching for an email address that may be archived and needing that email address to show up so we can identify what client it belongs to. So in one case we…

"Not Like" or "Does Not Contain" search operators
I would like to suggest the "Not Like" and "Does Not Contain" operators for searching contacts when I would like to exclude certain contacts from my results.

Customizable and Sortable Column headers in searches, etc.
This has probably been asked, but it is pretty common these days in software packages to be able to customize columns headers in search or even onscreen reports, by adding to those visible or removing one (temporarily), and then being able to sort by clicking on that column header. For example, I can search by zip code, but cannot see the column result, and then cannot sort by the Contact Name column. Thanks

it would be nice for the house icon to pop up next to client's name in Search Box, so we know where to find the detailed Notes.

Advanced Search Field could use the ability to search for the two CRS fields in the Best Interest box on the account page.

Ability to merge Tag Groups
It would be nice to merge existing Tag Groups together. Sometimes the name is slightly different (made by two people) but used for the same thing. For clean up, it would be nice to have a merge function.

Search clients/prospects based on distance from a specific address or zipcode
I'd like to be able to type in a specific address or zipcode & select all clients and/or prospects within or outside of an x-mile radius.
Currently I'm having to type each dern zipcode separately to find clients who are too far away since our city is so spread out. I cannot just type "exclude" and then the cities, because the city itself is so big that your address can say you're in the city & still be 1.5 hours away.

- Quicklists to sort by Seminar Attendee Status
Be able to include seminar attendee status in a quick list and/or tag group search.
For example, we like to send out broadcast emails severel times before a seminar/webinar but we don't want to send that same invite to someone who has already signed up to attend the seminar. We have no way to exclude those individuals in the next broadcast email w/o a lot of manual work.6 votes
