Please fix past due tasks to show on contact page again (Twelve month window).
Please return default range for open tasks to last six months and next six months. The new "Open Activities for Next 30 Days" is frustrating.
First, the goal of the CRM is to quickly see what is going on with the client. If I just met with the client and didn't complete the meeting notes and tasks, there is no indication there is recent activity on the contact page. (i.e. looks like nothing is going on, and the client was just in the office yesterday.)
Second, Clicking on PAST DUE activities on the top of the contact page DOES NOT bring up past due activities. Clicking on past due activities brings up TODAY's activities. I have to fumble with the date ranges to find out what activities are in process with the client.
Third, if I click on Activities on the left, it says "Woot! You have no pending activities." Even though there are seven past due activities.
Fourth, please review programming ideas before implementation. Write out your CORE VALUES. Are we moving toward our core values or just reacting to previous mistakes with a new mistakes.
1. Is this going to enhance the primary goal of keeping the advisor informed about what is going on with the client?
2. Is this better for the advisor, or have we been manipulated by a bully? The goal is to help advisors meet client expectations. Not let bully's punish advisors because a task didn't get done today. (i.e. Not being able easily find an uncompleted task.)
3. Are we making routine tasks more or less cumbersome? (Having to click several times and then fumble with the date's to find yesterday's client meeting is not a good change. Previously, it was right there on the contact page and one click to open it. Now, there is no indication there was a client meeting in the last three weeks. It typically takes almost two months to complete an account transfer or finish a life insurance policy, so anything less than three months is going to be VERY annoying. Show you are still in touch with the normal routines we are working with.)
4. Keep the core program consistent. You don't want advisors to be worrying about what dramatic change is going to happen next that could make them think a part of their data is no longer accessible. It took a LONG while to figure out the new programming was showing only today's activities, when I clicked on past due activities. Even 20 seconds is a long while, when I'm on the phone with a client. Your goal should be to make us look professional in front of our clients, not lost. Advisors have enough to worry about, without having to stress about unsupervised programmers causing confusion.
Fifth, I purposely leave a meeting as an unfinished activity, until the batch of tasks from the meeting are completed. I want to be able to quickly reference when we met with the client and get a list of all the action items from the meeting that were summarized in the "Appointment" activity. The completed activities disappear, but the client may want an update on completed and uncompleted activities we discussed in the meeting.
Redtail’s Product Owner has read the suggestion and there is some internal discussion needed in order to determine next steps.
This suggestion is remaining open and can continue to gather votes and comments!

Thank you for fixing it on Monday morning, but this is the second time since February that Redtail was very messed up for Saturday and Sunday. Please supervise the programmers for smoother weekends. You've got a great CRM, I know you can protect it and keep it running smooth.
1. Thank you - Clicking on Past due items at the top of the client screen now brings up past due items, instead of today's activities.
2. Thank you - Clicking on Activities on the left now brings up open activities, instead of today's activities.
3. Thank you - The "Open activities for the next 30 days" in the middle of the client page was changed back to include past due items. -

Please don't jerk around with the data. For an Advisor, my CRM is my livelihood. I take it very seriously. Without easily accessible, ACCURATE data, I'm out of business.
I came into the office on Saturday night to get caught up and get a jump on next week. I spent a long time trying to re-enter last weeks activities that had disappeared. I selected the client, clicked on "Activities" and Oh bummer ... the meeting appointments and the rollover activities, insurance activities, and outlines for the rebalance of an existing account activities were GONE. I noticed the number of past due activities was growing as I tried to re-enter the lost data, but when I clicked on "Past Due Activities", that was empty. Once I figured out it was a Redtail default date range programming error, I had to go back and delete the duplicates. Then, I started the process of contacting customer service and try to write a suggestion as kindly as possible. Please have a former advisor with insurance and investment management industry experience supervise the programmers. You have effective programmers that are excited to generate a big list of changes, but you need someone with industry wisdom to guide them. Changes for the sake of generating a big list of changes can be very counter productive, if you scare and frustrate your financial advisors.
The financial business is a high trust environment. Clients trust advisors to hold, keep and track their hard earned money. Advisors trust Redtail to hold, keep and track the precious details of their client relationships. When the data appears gone ... well ... you know how a person feels when their money is missing.
