  1. Eliminate automatic business contact and automatic owner contact

    Please eliminate the automatic business contact AS WELL as the automatic owner contact when entering a trust in the account section.

  2. Would it be possible to see name of spouse or family name next to a contact name in selection list?

    When selecting a second contact (usually spouse) to link to an activity or note, and there are multiple contacts with the same last name, it is hard to determine who is the correct contact to select. If I don't already know the first name of the spouse/partner, I have to cancel the activity or note, go back to the the contact list and open the orgiinal contact to see who they are householded with.   3. Contact information for spouse - Would like button to automatically update/add contact information to spouse or other contact in a household

    Would like button to automatically update/add contact information to spouse or other contact in a household. Currently I have to copy and past from one record to another each contact item at a time: phone number, street address, city, state zip. Issue exists when adding new contacts or updating address/phone for existing contact.Have to update both contact records manually.

  4. When searching text in notes, search comments as well.

    When filtering text in notes to find a word or phrase, the text in comments is not searched. Comment text should be searched as well.

  5. UDFs should be able to be used in the advanced search feature.

    It would be really helpful if we could use UDFs in the advanced search feature, allowing us to filter by more than one report. We need to be able to search by advisor AND specific UDFs. This would make UDFs much more useful, especially for RMDs.

  6. Ability to send broadcast email as the advisor

    Instead of my advisor having to log in and send out the broadcast emails, it would be better if there was a way to "send as" so the broadcast emails come from my advisor and not me.

  7. Voice activate typing - NOT copytalk

    We use Copytalk (which we have to pay per person for), it would be awesome if the system allowed us to speak directly into Redtail. Not just for taking notes but for everything. i.e. Dragon Speaking Naturally. In the age we live in, our amount of time typing is getting close to constant, causing pain.

  8. Custom Export more spouse fields

    When creating a new custom export, all of the spouse's information is not available to add. i.e. retirement date, age etc. All of the information is in redtail but cannot be exported. Can we add those two fields?

  9. Show whose database you're in..

    Please add a feature that shows you which database you are in.

    i.e. have the advisor's name on the top of the page to the right of the search contacts bar.

    For those of us who need to switch back and forth a lot it's easy to forget which advisor's database you are in. Also if you could make it simpler to switch databases (like a one click switch instead of 3 clicks) that would also be much appreciated!

  10. Broadcast Email Template Automation

    it would be nice if redtail could send an email template automatically on a client's account anniversary/annual review. Right now I have to manually send a template to the client.

  11. employment history

    It would be helpful to have a feature for past employment history, where we can search by a contact and find out all the places he/she worked at in the past (kind of like LInkedin), and vice versa -- be able to look at a business and see who used to work there. The memberships field is not very helpful in this regard because it quickly gets cluttered. Say there is a firm of 20 current employees and 20 past employees -- that's 40 records I would need to look through for that firm to find whom I need. Thank…

  13. Term Policy

    I would like the ability to search term policies by their end of level period. There are several ways to do it, but a drop down field for term level period (5 year, 10 year, etc.) would be great. That way I could do a search for policies issued in a certain year that are a certain length.

  14. Linking Important Info to Spouse

    It would be great if you could add an option/button to link Important Information to the spouse. Often times, we make sure that our Important Info is the same for the whole household, so we have to copy and paste the husbands notes to the wifes. Would be helpful if you could simply select that we want them linked to eachother.

  15. Add roles to the main page for a contact

    Instead of having the redundant "Servicing and "Writing" advisor on the main page under contact details, put the Roles in these spots. Because the roles are associated with workflows, It is important to have them in an easy to see place instead of on a random page that is easily forgettable.

  16. Husband & Wife as One

    Many of my married clients share everything, some even only have one email that they share. What is difficult currently with RedTail is that everything is recorded separately. So notes, emails, documents, reminders, etc. are only connected to one of the two contacts. It would be extremely helpful if we had an option to link the two so that everything that I see in one contact (notes, emails, documents, reminders, etc.) will also show on the other. So no matter which of the two spouses that I open, I will be able to see everything.

  17. Apply different time zones to different events in Calendar

    When creating/editing events in the Calendar, we should be able to enter a time zone for that specific event, so that it adapts to each time zone. Very difficult to schedule events that do not occur in the same time zone as they were created.

  19. Servicing Advisor = Advisor Role

    Workflows are best used when tasks are assigned to different "roles" within each firm. If we went to the trouble to assign a Servicing Advisor to every contact, why now do we also need to assign an Advisor Role to every contact? Seems redundant.

    Sure, you can do a bulk change to assign all servicing advisors the advisor role. But why? If contacts are always getting added, how frequently should you need to run these bulk actions before running a workflow. Recipe for mistakes...

  20. Default email to compliance team when a client note is created (compliance issue)

    A default email is sent to the Compliance Team each time a Client Note is created for compliance purposes.
