Add the Automation Condition field - Created By
Please add the Created By field for the automation condition.
This way I can create a template for permissions that says to assign a certain permission to a Contact/Note/Activity if it was created by a specific user.
This would completely automate all of the permissions in my database for the 20+ users we have.
Also please add the action for when notes are created.
The suggestion may be planned, but there is no timeline on this feature being added.
This suggestion is remaining open and can continue to gather votes and comments!

How is this not a feature from the get go on this product? We just setup a database with RT for the first time and now that we've discovered this is not available we are going to have to evaluate alternative CRM options like WealthBox. The entire goal in making a CRM change was to reduce the amount of clicks and save time for advisors - it is extremely inconvenient to have to manually set a field every single time you create a new contact. I guess the only solution within RT platform would be for each individual advisor to buy their own database, but that creates a multitude of other issues, and obviously multiplies the cost unnecessarily.

Any update to this request on 1010/2018 ????? This would SOLVE a lot of time for sales people if this was available. I could set an automation for trigger event, contact added >Added by = Name> Grant Permission to > Name.
Right now I have permission automations trigger on servicing advisor, though people neglect to fill in the servicing advisor making the automation USELESS and Preventing them from viewing the contact at all.
This is the #1 complaint of Redtail in our program currently. -

Great suggestion! The list of fields and triggers for Automations is fairly limited, this addition would have a heap of use cases.

Notes, Activities, and Contact Permission Automation
Allow automation to allow permissions to be set based on the user that enters in contacts, notes, and activities. For example, if a user enters a new contact, note, or activity; they will all automatically be permissioned to the users team per automation. This would really simplify the permission system and make it more user friendly for institution clients with many advisers. -

When creating an automation, I would like to specify it for a user. Example: When an activity is created with the type 'Client Appointment' and the user is 'Scott Klatt', then the "Scott Prep" workflow should be attached to it (or an automatic task should be assigned to his assistant one day before)

Membership Option: WHEN "Input By" is for anyone on our team can you add where it auto defaults to a certain SERVICING/WRITING Advisor. Reason is there are different advisors, HOWEVER only the advisor or his assistant is going to enter info for them.
This has caused alot of records that have no adivsor (as some have forgot to enter that) and changing alot of these has taken substantial fime. Thank you.
