Wow, I see I'm wasting my time even being here. I see a ton of requests for this feature and so many of these comments are more than 3-4 years old. Nothing has been done. This is disappointing to see.

Please GET THIS DONE! I just converted to the REDTAIL CRM from another system, and this was one of the very first things I became frustrated with. I work with clients who ask me to reach out to their adult children, which are sometimes POA, yet I don't have easy access to their separate information? Why isn't there "non-dependent children"? or POA, or other relationship connections easily available? Why is it buried under "Memberships" THREE clicks away, and nothing to alert me that there is someone else, that is not a dependent, that is not listed under the head of household, that I should be reaching out to??? REDTAIL already has "add Spouse", "add child", "other", etc. But they all connect the Household data, phone, address, email. Why not "Add POA", "Add Tax Advisor", etc. with the ability to add information, phone, address, etc. just for that contact, and not commingling with the Head of Household's phone, address, email, etc.?

sooo, just how many comments and votes are needed to make a suggestion a priority? this feature suggestion has 1159 votes but implementation still seems iffy. surprising, considering how responsive your support people are to individual user needs. These votes represent a minimum of 400 individual users...

Here we are, nearing the end of 2019 and this suggestion with over 1K votes is still not implemented and doesn't even have a schedule to be. In the meantime, several other things have that didn't even half the votes as this does... so confused!!!

As of 10/25/2019 we're up to 1055 votes for this issue that's been here since 2017. What does it take to get some movement on this????

Last time I commented (Aug-Sept 2018) this feedback had 408 votes, it's now 944 as of 6/20/19. It's obviously a desired item. What's the holdup?

Currently we have to add professional contacts in two places (memberships & professional contacts) and family in two places (family & memberships). We should only have to add contacts in one place, and we should be able to view all contacts in one place without having to run a report.

This could be done with a simple Contacts or Relationships section. Showing Family, Extended Family, Friends, and Professional/Business Contacts.

Having to manually run a report and then then have to go manually retrieve a report isn't worth while until an extensive project on data analyse is underway and this is almost never the case.

The ability to view family, professional, and membership connections from the CRM profile would be very valuable. Being able to view these details at a glance would be beneficial while dealing with a client "live" whether in person or on the phone. These brief glaces at these details often act as reminders on topics of conversation or relevant family updates that would likely be brought up during that conversation.
For example, sometimes a client refers to a person by name but it would be rude or impersonal to not already know that this person is either a son or a late husband or even an attorney they've been working with..

Better still, set up the tree so that various relationships can be added or removed from the tree. My employer would like to see a tree for referrals (see idea http://feedback.redtailtechnology.com/forums/281220-redtail-tailwag/suggestions/9692067-create-a-referral-tree-where-multiple-generations); a tree with customized/changeable relationships would be a very powerful tool for many of us.

Please add the ability to show the memberships that are family as a family tree that is easy to access (from the contact page). It is vital to be able to see family connections when working in the CRM.

Maybe include a "Copy to a Contact" option in the drop down from each contact detail.

Shared family contact information would be fantastic. This would hopefully help to minimize errors when updating multiple clients/profiles when a whole family moves to the same address. Or at least have an option to choose whether a contact detail is an individual contact (such as a cell phone number) or a shared, family contact (a family residence or vacation home).

I completely agree! The membership section is too hard to access. I would love to be able to see the whole family tree easily without messing up my ability to treat extended family and adult children as independent households.

Great idea...we're doing exactly the same and it seems like RT is so close with existing contact data. Or, RT integration to family tree software...Ancestry.com or ?

Our office uses the Family section to keep track of Family relationships of children (dependents & grown), parents, siblings etc. Currently, if a child, parent, or sibling is a client, a second record is required in order to link information under a "Family" other than their own. For business purposes, it would be great to be able to link their name, date of Birth and Social Security number.

Can you work on having one entry possibly per social security number allowing certain client data to link with another client record under "Family"? It would be great to be able to print a Family list. The list could go as far as categories.

This is a significant oversight that has been ignored long enough. Redtail should not be determining how we service a family. Please get feedback from actual financial representative before determining the logic of these features! THIS NEEDS TO ADDRESSED ASAP!

Remove the Memberships section and expand the Family section, so that on one page it is divided into the following segments:

1. Immediate Family (keep the family name section here)
2. Extended Family
3. Friends/Co-Workers
4. Business/Professional Relationships

We should not have to click several different places to find out who are client is related to. It makes for a more complicated user experience. Why not have have everything in one location. Less clicks the better.

Can this suggestion be revisited? The advisor is amassing more clients from referrals and often it is from extended family members. Kids are also getting older with their own accumulated capital and returning to the firm as clients. There needs to be a way to track lineage as well as total family accounts. In other words, the advisor services each family household independently but for maintaining relationships should be able to identify family members (e.g. grandparents, parents, kids, grandkids, etc.) As a CRM I think the next development phase is taking this into consideration as an enhancement for advisors who are operation more as a family office. Currently, the only option is to export reports into Excel.

In addition, when viewing accounts under the option "Show Family Accounts", perhaps there is a way to actually list out the first name of the account owner instead of just "family". Or just partition the account page to show accounts under each owner like you have organized for "Close Accounts" etc.

Would like a family tree function to indicate who's related to who but not necessarily within the same immediate family unit/household. In our office, we try not to include children in the family name function unless they're minors but we have large family networks in our clientele who frequently hold appointments in the office at the same time. Some names are very generic so when a client says that he and his mother/aunt/cousin/grandchild/nephew/etc are coming in for a review together, it's difficult to search and locate names/profiles in order to add them to a calendar event.

Include non-dependents as family-tree members. POA, Siblings, parents, grown children, grand children, aunts and uncles, etc
