Provide more/easier alternatives for uploading into folders
Would love automatic backup of certain (client) folders on my local hard drive into Imaging so as not to require a select and upload type of transfer into Imaging. (I do have cloud backup of my entire local hard drive into another service, but would love a seamless integration into Redtail CRM through the Imaging service.)
Or even a right click on a file/folder on my hard drive and have an option to upload into Imaging.
All of the current uploading methods take too much work; too many steps in the workflow. The effort is not worth the benefit of the service.

This suggestion is either not possible or not planned at the current time. Technology changes all the time though!

Today is the time when virtualization becomes a new paradigm of the modern computing world.
Once you have your VMware virtual infrastructure in place, the issue of your data protection would hardly leave the scene with VM backup as its primary element. What are the challenges and choices? There are a lot of things to consider and too little space in this post to discuss them, but our general advice for you is to follow VMware backup best practices to build your own data protection system.

When our office was looking for a compliant was to save and access documents to a cloud we were told that “imaging is just like One Drive”. However, it is not.
You cannot save documents directly to imager in any way, you must save it to your desktop and then upload it to imager. This is a huge waste of time and will not solve the problem of documents being saved in multiple places.
We now must create a whole work around/ process to accommodate this shortfall. -

We would love to have a mapped Drive Option in Imaging. Perhaps build an interface with Cloudberry Drive. See some of their other mapped providers here: https://www.cloudberrylab.com/drive/amazon-s3.aspx

When I open a file from Redtail Imaging (Excel, Word, etc.) and I make changes, I want to be able to "save as" right back into the same folder.
Currently, I have to save it onto my desktop and then upload it back into imaging. This is one step too many.
Any other software I've used (Dropbox, Onenote, etc.) allows you to save the file directly back into the folder.

When documents are stored in Retriever for imaging, in order to make changes to a document I have to save it to my desktop again, then drag it back in to retriever and delete the old one that's in there. It would be nice if I hit save in the document and the current document in retriever gets updated and saved. Can we fix this?

We must store dozens of documents every day in Redtail Imaging for WORM-compliant storage as we hope to soon be a paperless office. Dragging and dropping files is certainly helpful but no where near helpful enough as there is so much room for error and still takes too much time. Syncing folders can be done in other imaging programs and we will have to seriously think about using a different one if Redtail does not have this ability soon. Thank you for considering this improvement!

Have you guys thought of or has it been suggested to have a Microsoft outlook plug in to RedTail imaging so if a client sends us an attachment we can with a click send to their RedTail imaging or CRM doc storage? Citrix Share File has a plug that could be used as a model to build a RedTail imaging/doc storage plug in for Outlook.
As it stands now I have to save the file to desktop, adding clutter to my already terribly cluttered computer desktop!, and then drag the file to imaging retriever.
Thanks for considering this !

IT IS STUPID THAT REDTAIL DOES NOT DO THIS ALREADY. WHAT IS THE WORTH OF IMAGING IF SYNCING IS NOT AVAILABLE?

...is there a way to Sync my C-drive folders/files with RedTail Imaging (like how DropBox works) so the new file(s) automatically save/sync into RedTail Imaging?
...its my understanding the Drag/Drop method using Retriever is currently the only way to accomplish this.
...is it even possible to sync RT-Imaging with DropBox on a Desktop PC? ...if no, then please explain why not?

Example: You would be able to set it up where every Friday evening, or whenever you would like to set it up, retriever accesses a folder on your computer where you save your scanned documents and copies them to redtail imaging automatically. This makes sure the offsite back up is taking place automatically and regularly. Much less manual and more compliant! This seems to be a simple feature that could be built in and provide a good amount of value to its users. Thanks!

I would like updates that I make on my company drive to automatically update in Retriever instead of having to go in through Parallels every time (I use a Mac) to make updates. Also, is this the same thing as project Fetch? Customer service did not seem familiar with it.

Please prioritize the "Watching Folder" enhancement in Redtail Imaging so I can have Imaging automatically update changes to folders that are made on my company hard drive.

Sarah, I scan my documents to a folder on my G: drive (backed up nightly by me comany, C" drives can crash) called "Redtail Docs" and inside of there is a folder called "uploaded". Once I move the file over to imaging via retriever, I click and drag the file to the uploaded folder. After the docs are backed up overnight, I go into that uploaded folder and delete them (they go to recycle bin) and start the process over again. I never have a problem duplicating the docs or adding them twice. Try it! good luck!.

to be able to open up a portal to upload any new documents that may have appeared on the c: drive. that way you don't have to remember which ones you have uploaded and the system would be intuitive to know that a specific document was new.
