The default on a client record should not be that we have to complete tasks in order for us to see the correct next activity date. I never complete phone calls or client meetings. I want to be able to see them on the calendar without having to select "show completed". On a personal calendar you do not remove a completed appointment because it is done. You want to be able to easily go back and see when it was.
Redtail’s Product Owner has read the suggestion and there is some internal discussion needed in order to determine next steps.

It is very confusing that the "Next Activity" can be an activity with a date that has passed. Many of our team members do not like to mark off tasks as completed and because of this, the "next Activity" is never a future date, is it always a date that has already passed. You should not have to complete an activity to see the true "Next Activity".
Agreed...our assumption with appointments is that they are completed unless they are removed from the calendar. We'd love to remove the need to "complete" appointments.
