Billable Time Tracking
I'd like to see a check box "billable" so we can know if the time spent with or on the client was billable. and have a report that we can print/export that would have the clients name, and activity details such as duration, and description
Redtail’s Product Owner has read the suggestion and there is some internal discussion needed in order to determine next steps.
This suggestion is remaining open and can continue to gather votes and comments!

This is important, obviously, for many advisors. It has been repeatedly requested since 2012. Why hasn't this enhancement been made yet, when many competitors offer this important functionality?

I would like to see this added to the contact record. I would like fields for date the time was spend, hours spent, and who spent the time, as well as a short description field for what was done. (I can see myself as the Admin putting in the hours for my Reps a day or so after the actual activity.)

I don't do hourly billing but I would like to know the amount of time I spent on each client servicing and meeting with them. A billable tracking feature on the actual client record would be very helpful.

This would be helpful for a number of reasons. Client billing, measuring overall cost-effectiveness and client profitability.

YES, this is what we need --> "Add a timekeeper to the contact page that allows us to easily track how much time we spend working with a client. This would serve for advisors to better understand their profitability per client as well as be able to produce the total amount of time spent working on/with a client for a given timeframe"

Having the user start a timer attached to a record with the user's billing rate will allow for the advisors to tally the true worth of the client's services given. Reporting the time an office spent on the client's activities can add great value to the quarterly and annual meetings, ESPECIALLY with the new DOL issues. Assigning different hourly rates by user allows for staff activities to be calculated at a valuable benefit to the client as well.

What's the status on this? It would be great to have this tool. Please add a timer function so we can track time, not only for billing, but for time management.

ADD A NOTE CATEGORY: "TIME ALLOCATION" THAT WOULD ALLOW FOR A DROP DOWN 15 MINUTES/30 MINUTES/45 MINUTES/1 HOUR.... THAT WOULD BE EXPORTABLE TO TRACK HOURS SPENT ON A PARTICULAR CLIENTS WORKLOAD.

Create a billing system to include steps such as:
Sent invoice to client for $$ for XX Services on XX/XX/XX
Received check $$ from client XX/XX/XX
Sent check to $$ bookkeeper on XX/XX/XX
Check deposit $$ confirmed on XX/XX/XX -

Provide a data field to enter time spent working on a client project, and another data field to summarize what was done. There should then be a running total of how much time was spent working with a client. This will help to see how much time we are spending on client projects. Also, as more planners move to a fee base compensation model it will be easier to track and summarize the time for billing purposes and/or when a client questions a service.

This is very important to justify fees charged to clients, please implement this asap!

We need a time tracking function to keep track of time we spend on client financial plans by each person in the office.
