It would be very helpful if the documents stored in the client file were ordered by the most recent on top to the oldest as a default.

I know it isn't the perfect solution, but if you click on "Date Added" at the top of the column, it will put them in order of when they were added. I generally double click because I am usually looking for something more recent.
- one click: oldest to newest in descending order
- double click: newest to oldest in descending order
I hope this helps anyone with this issue!
