Email Sequencing Workaround for FMG Integration
I am using FMG suite for email marketing and Redtail CRM for my contacts. Since we are a small RIA, sales force does not make sense for us. I image a lot of Redtail users feel the same. That being said, email sequencing is still important so that we are not sending email communications to people who are not engaging with us (and spamming them).
It is very helpful to see who clicked on a link in the email in FMG as well as who opened it. As a side note, when someone opts out, it shows up as a click in the email history but that's not the main issue.
The problem I'm trying to solve is that since FMG does not offer email sequencing, I need a workaround to send the second email in a campaign (only) to the people that opened the first email. In order to do that I need the Client ID number that is associated with each contact in Redtail. Is there any way that Redtail's Client ID can be added to the FMG email history CSV download?
Please let me know if you need any further clarification. My goal is to be able to use the data from FMG (who opened or clicked the first email) and create a new tag group in Redtail. I would then use that new tag group to send the second email in my campaign and avoid spamming our database. Still not an ideal solution, but a solution nonetheless.
The only workaround I am able to come up with requires downloading massive spreadsheets of data and way too much precious time. Email sequencing AKA drip campaigns are no longer beneficial if they require hours or work and investigation. I'm not quite sure how a feature like this could be overlooked as it is an industry standard, essential email marketing strategy.
FMG tells me that there's no way they can obtain the Redtail client ID at this time but they are working on a solution. The only unique identifier in Redtail is the Client ID so I don't know how they can integrate in the first place without that info.
Any workaround suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
