Create a search by criteria on Activities so we can search by name, or a specific word.

This can be done by using Reports. Reports > Activities by Contact. Then filter for the information you need.
Now, I've had a ticket in for over 30 days at this point because Reports are not loading, but this is how you SHOULD be able to search criteria in Activites.

You can run reports to this effect, but advanced search can't see the API fields that would be required at this time.
Reports > Activity by Contact > Filter > add filter options to desired effect.
Just make sure you add custom categories or types to be able to search for what you are looking for, this is the best way to customize activity reports in my experience.
