Allow Color Coding on the Calendar by Advisor/Employee
It would be nice to be able to color code our calendar by the person the task is assigned to rather than the type of appointment. I know others like the status quo so if there would be a way to choose between both features that would help out our company nicely.
We gave users the ability to color code the attendees to an activity via bubbles on an activity. If users dont want to leverage the bubbles there is an option in the preferences menu named "Allow Attendee Bubble View" which can be disable the bubbles and go back to a "Classic" version of the calendar.

We all use the same color coding for our office. This way we all know that Green is a new appointment, etc. If someone leaves the colors are always the same. When we have a new employee come, I have to give them a list of colors and spend time putting it in each person's calendar.

If you have more than one person in the office and using redtail - can we have the option to have each person color coded so we can distinguish between each persons calendars?

Color coding by user in the calendar has been "planned" for over five years now.. let that sink in.

Yes! I am on a team of coworkers and would love to be able to assign a color to each team member so I can easily differentiate between calendar events

Morgan said that we should do this. I agree. Color code by employees.

It would be ideal for an admin who handles the calendar and color codes appointments to match that of the advisor. It should be an option if thats what the client needs. It does not make sense for an advisor to have to sit with their admin or staff to make these changes (as fun as arts and crafts hours is). Its an option with Outlook and Chrome so it should be for a CRM of this nature.

This would be very useful for office. I am suprised that it has been planned since 2012. I would like to see an update on this sooner. Thanks!

I've only been using Redtail for 6 months and cannot believe this is not an option. I too would like to know when this "planned" function will be available. 5 years seems like a long time to wait for something that seems like it would be easy to implement.

The status of this says "PLANNED July 03, 2012" Five years later: Is there any update as to whether or not this is going to be an added feature? (Aside from creating a custom activity category as we need to maintain the categories as they are.)

I would like for the calendars to print out as they did BEFORE this last update!! We rely on printed calendars during our "tax Season". We give our preparer's a printed calendar every morning. For them to be able to see the wording we have in the "Subject" line of the calendar is HUGE!! They do not happen to use RedTail, so they have to rely on the calendar for invoicing. The best way we have found to print a calendar is to do a control "P" so that ALL of the information in the time block shows. Using the Actions - Print Calendar give so little information it is a waste of paper and ink. PLEASE go back to the former method or at least give us an option of how WE want to be able to print and view our calendars!!

Please allow people to be organized by color. When managing multiple people's schedules, if they aren't organized by color, they all look the same and it's confusing. I think this is available in outlook.

Alternatively, as a team if the advisor or staff have a good color coding scheme setup to represent various activities there should be an option to allow the user to choose an existing color coding scheme so that the whole TEAM is on the same page.

We have created a work around for this by doing the following:
1. Go to your Preference tab > manage Database list > Activity and notes> Activity Types
and add all your advisors and team members names.
2. Go to your calendar and under the the actions drop down, create different color codes for each advisor or team member.
3. When you add an activity, be sure to select the advisor/employee or team members name in the "activity TYPE" drop down at the bottom of the activity page.
4. When you open your calendar, be sure to select the advisors and team members names in the "activity types" drop down member that you want to see on your calendar.
Your calendar should now be very colorful and you can now see activites by advisor or team member.I hope this helps!

Please combine this with Have a universal default color that can be set for each user suggestion so the total votes can be seen. It appears to have a LOT of votes; so, can Redtail give us an expected release date.

Having different colors for other people would be so helpful! My boss wants all our activities and tasks logged the calendar. I refer to the calendar constantly to see what task I need to do next. But I also want to have her calendar up so I'm sure I've giving her the proper support for client meetings and phone calls, and re-arranging my tasks around her priorities as they shift during the day. Looking forward to an improvement here.
