Feature Request: Trigger Automation When an Account Changes From $0 Balance to “Funded”
Please add an automation trigger that fires when an account’s balance changes from $0.00 to > $0.00 (“funded”). This would let firms automatically notify staff to contact the client to confirm/celebrate the first funding and kick off next-step tasks.
New client accounts are often created days or weeks before assets arrive (ACATs, contributions, rollovers, etc.). During this gap, all contact data and workflow scaffolding exist, but there’s no native event in Redtail Automations / Workflows that detects the moment funds hit the account. Teams currently rely on manual monitoring or ad-hoc reports, which introduces delays and inconsistency in client communication at a high-impact milestone.
Ideal User Story
When a newly opened account receives its first deposit (balance goes from $0 to > $0), I want Redtail to automatically start the “Account Funded—Client Touchpoint” workflow, assign a same-day call task to the servicing advisor, and send an internal alert so our team can promptly confirm receipt and celebrate with the client.
This is a small, precise addition that leverages data Redtail already ingests and would meaningfully enhance Automations/Workflows—a core differentiator for busy advisory teams.
Thanks for considering! This would be a high-impact quality-of-life improvement for client onboarding and service consistency.
