Laser App - Head of House info populate for spouse
Currently if I access Laser App under a spouse because it is paperwork for her new account, Laser App will NOT let me select her husband for a beneficiary form or the second of a Joint Ownership. The way it works now, I HAVE to access Laser App under the "FAMILY HEAD" and then keep switching to spouse and back to family head for the different fields I want to populate. It would be very helpful to have the ability to populate with any family member information as needed whether I have accessed Laser App under the Family Head or the spouse.
Redtail’s Product Owner has read the suggestion and there is some internal discussion needed in order to determine next steps.

The option to export spouse info such as address, phone, email should be available. For example, I pull a list of Head of Households (HOH) and export the emails. It would be nice if I could also select spouse email. The goal here is to be able to email selected or all households in the system but if my HOH does not have an email, I have just missed that household. Currently, I have to run another export for non-HOH or run a list of everyone and sort out who is a duplicate to get spouse info.

Currently the dependent (spouse) information re: address is linked, not added. I would like to have it added so that if I am on my phone or adding in laserapp, the information from the vcard would show up. Currently it does not show up with only being linked. And it is a hassle to have to duplicate that address for the spouse when you've already entered it in for head of household.

I tried to run a report last week for clients who hold American Funds and whose family portfolio is greater than $100,000 to invite to an event. If a spouse holds the funds, not the family head, they didn't get on the list and weren't invited. Family portfolio value should appear on all family members! Also, when sending info to LaserApp shared addresses, phone numbers, e-mail addresses don't populate for the spouse, and that's ridiculous!

This is also frustrating when we run the birthday report. We do a monthly print out to send out birthday cards to our clients and their spouses but the linked address of the spouse/individual does not print on the report. So we have to double our work and look each of the linked spouses up to get their address.

Sometimes a spouse actually becomes a client. When this happens, there are forms to completed. When we try to "send to Laser App" from the spouse record, only their name gets transferred. There address and phone numbers don't get linked and we end up having to type all this info into Laser App manually. I know we can go through the primary contact record and change all the necessary fields to the spouse in the Laser App form, but that causes an opportunity to miss a necessary change. It would be beneficial to go directly from the spouse record in Redtail to Laser App.

Currently if we have two persons linked, only the head of household can have their address and phone number exported into excel or LaserApp. If we try to export the spouse who has their address linked from the head of household- that address and phone number info will not be exported. This is very frustrating!

Would be great if they pulled membership relationships as well. For instance, a company cannot have family members, but has owners. Owner/board member/trustee information is not pulled to Laser App because memberships aren't included, only family.
Also, employees are included in memberships. This would save so much time when we are creating 401k account applications, especially when we get a new corporate 401k client. We would be able to insert company info, owner/board member info, and the employee info easily if memberships were included in the pull.

To get the wife's info to populate into LaserApp, send the husband's redtail record to LaserApp using the integration menu at the bottom right in Redtail, and then once in LaserApp, instead of 'individual', choose 'spouse' from the dropdown menu at the top of each form you want filled.

I just tried this again to see if maybe there was an upgrade. I did a form for a joint account and all the spouse info filled in correctly, address, phone, etc. I HAVE noticed recently that when I add couples in CRM at the same time, for some reason the address and phone do not "share" with the spouse. That might have everything to do with it not showing up in Laser Ap. The clients I just did this for show a shares address for the spouse and her stuff showed up on the application. I guess it all depends on how the contact records are set up.

Currently Redtail only makes shared data (addresses, phone numbers) available to 'Create Mail Merge Document' and not LaserApp, Create Profile Form, or Run a Report. As users, we call this 'broken' not 'Correct' as the tecnician referred to it when I called about it. What's the point of having contact management software that cannot even share data with itself?

I see what you are saying. By your first comment, I thought that nothing was coming through. I must not use forms that ask for that info, because I didnt know that it would come through. I do have issues sometimes with phone numbers, but other than that, most everything comes through as long as the contact are in the household. there was an old request a while ago that some guy wasn't getting ANYTHING...no name...social....nothing. I figured he didn't have his contacts set up correctly. I just tried a form that asked for a DL and I had to insert it, so I guess it doesn't pull that info. I suppose we should be happy with a program like Laser Ap though......save a LOT of time!!!

I have seen these requests before for "exporting" Laser Ap and I truly don't understand them. I have no problems at all with info pulling into Laser ap. I'm not sure how you people are doing it, but I never have to type in address or phone numbers at any time as long as the family members are in the household record. I guess I don't understand the exporting. I just open Laser ap and there everything is. Weird!

When exporting to Laser Apps, it exports the head of household's address etc. But when exporting a spouse or other family member, it only exports the name and you have to manually type in the address, phone number etc. Please correct this so that it will export all the same info for members of the same household.
