Customize Opportunity "Type"
Looking to customize the Opportunity "Type." Currently "New Business" and "Existing Business" are the only options. We would love to have the ability to customize the Opportunity "Type" just like we are able to customize the Opportunity "Stage."
This feature is now available. You can create custom opportunities by navigating to the "Navigate Database Lists" page from the "Preferences" list page. Once on the "Navigate Database Lists" page, select the Opportunities option and then select types. From there, you can add or remove custom opportunity types.

1. Please allow more than 2 opportunity types. Custom options would be great!
2. Please allow custom export.
3. Please allow the "Referred By" option
4. Please allow the report to show the "Date Created"
5. Please stop rerouting back to the Today's Overview Opportunities after I open and update an opportunity within the contact record. -

I agree I would like to be able to separate out opportunities, Financial planning, life insurance etc. as the fields are to generic to just tracking AUM. This makes it difficult to use the opps. report for anything other than investments.

It would be nice to be able to add additional Opportunity types to be more specific as in Financial Planning. It would be a nice to customize them like workflows and be able to have the two work together cohesively.

I'd like to be able to customize EVERY field within opportunity tracker. I can currently change source and stage, why not type??? Also, the notes field only allows 15 lines, why? I need more room. This should all be customized for my needs

I think this would be a major benefit to all users. Although it is currentl helpful to have types as a field in opportunites. the fields chosen do not current work for most advisors. we tend to have more than 2 types of opportunites. Even if you didnt allow each user to customize just adding a few more fileds would be a major benfit for us. For instance it could be (Annuity, Life, Investments, Financial Planning). This would allow all users to better segment there opportunites.

Add a field to opportunities to put what product you are trying to sell. This way we can see all the clients we are doing annuities for etc..

We need to segregate and track our opportunities by line of business. To us, all opportunities are, by definition, "new" business. So categorizing opportunities as "new" or "existing" business is irrelevant. But what IS relevant (at least to us) is whether the business opportunity is for insurance, financial plans, managed investments, etc. So we need the ability to add and maintain "opportunity types", just like you can add and maintain "opportunity stages".

Absolutely!
I'd like to have an opportunity to track my pipeline of various Product/Services lines: Financial Plans, Investment AUM, Insurance, Estate Planning, etc.
Each Product/Service line has a different Stages within the sales cycle. Please add ability create our own Opportunity Types just like we can create our own stages.

This is a REALLY important feature for us as we grow - we are starting to have quite a few different kinds of business in process, and we need to be able to quickly run reports on, for example, Annuity Opportunities in progress vs. Life Insurance Opportunities, etc. Is this something that is being worked on? It would be nice to have a "Type" field that is customizable, like the Stage field is....

The opportunities is a great feature. But, I would like to have different "opportunity steps" for different types of clients. For example, an annuity client, a life insurance client, an investment client.
You could have a button to "show" all opportunities, but also have the ability to drill down to "opportunity type" and then have a different set of steps/phases for that type.
This would really help for those of us that want to focus on different aspects of the business separately. For those users who don't want that much separation, they could just use one opportunity type (as it exists today).
