  1. Husband & Wife as One

    Many of my married clients share everything, some even only have one email that they share. What is difficult currently with RedTail is that everything is recorded separately. So notes, emails, documents, reminders, etc. are only connected to one of the two contacts. It would be extremely helpful if we had an option to link the two so that everything that I see in one contact (notes, emails, documents, reminders, etc.) will also show on the other. So no matter which of the two spouses that I open, I will be able to see everything.

  3. Important Information Report

    It would be great to have an "Important Information" added to the Reports under Common Tasks. There are times that we want to print out the Important Info for a client review, but have to copy and past.

  4. employment history

    It would be helpful to have a feature for past employment history, where we can search by a contact and find out all the places he/she worked at in the past (kind of like LInkedin), and vice versa -- be able to look at a business and see who used to work there. The memberships field is not very helpful in this regard because it quickly gets cluttered. Say there is a firm of 20 current employees and 20 past employees -- that's 40 records I would need to look through for that firm to find whom I need. Thank…

  7. Make Contact left menu bar customizable

    it would be great to be able to customize the left menu bar on the Contact's page so we can put the items we use the most at the top and not have to click "more"

  8. Would it be possible to see name of spouse or family name next to a contact name in selection list?

    When selecting a second contact (usually spouse) to link to an activity or note, and there are multiple contacts with the same last name, it is hard to determine who is the correct contact to select. If I don't already know the first name of the spouse/partner, I have to cancel the activity or note, go back to the the contact list and open the orgiinal contact to see who they are householded with.   9. contact details

    It would be great to have a custom box within the contact details that could be hidden or shown. It would have the option for custom drop downs and content. We do Medicare and Redtail is geared for finance. Not so much insurance. We could add a person's Medicare number, Eff date, etc. There is an Identification area but it does not work for Medicare

  10. Use the USPS API to verify mailing addresses

    The USPS has a great API to verify addresses and format them to the USPS standard. It will even give the Zip+4 for the address. How about a button to check the address?

  11. License Type Database List

    The license type database list is incomplete. While adding licenses for advisors, I was unable to add Series 1, Series 22, Series 31, and Series 53. I submitted a ticket to support technology but I was told that this feature is unavailable, and they suggested that I post it as a suggestion.

    Please add a field for the County.
    We currently have to put it in the "Long Description" field so the information is there but doesn't print on labels. It would be nice if there was a field for it that would show on the Contact Card.

  13. create employment checkbox

    Create a check box for employment status with options for full time, part time, unemployed, student, homemaker, etc. When a client retires we still like to keep their prior position and employer listed in the contact box for record-keeping purposes, but would like a way to indicate they are retired.

  14. written agreements review

    Love the written agreements review section. Every calendar year I am required to send privacy policy notices to all of my clients. Recording this in the record is great. something that would be nice:
    1. being able to generate a list of the last time I sent a PP notice to all of them
    this would be great for two reasons
    1. so that I can know who I am missing) at year end
    2. so that when auditor comes by to see that I have done it for the year

  15. Tracking maiden names and name changes.

    A long-time client gets married, you make the changes in Redtail, but you know them by their previous name. It would be helpful to have a way to pull them by their maiden names, without having to hyphenate it for the sake of being able to pull it. A way to link a maiden name, that is no longer a legal name, to the new married name.

  16. Establishment Date (Trust/Business/Associations ect)

    It would be very productive if we could have the establishment date field in the contact details section for entities. Usually on account paperwork the establishment date is required so having this information in the contact card just as it for birthdays would be very beneficial for entity clients.

  17. Ability to Print the Contact Card

    We bring up the contact card on the screen by clicking on the little icon of the contact card. I want to be able to print that to take it with me into a client meeting or when I am traveling to the client. If I am just looking at othat information while sitting at my desk, I don't need to click on the icon for contact card. The info is right on the screen.   19. Add an option for name pronunciation

    We have several clients with unusual or difficult to pronounce names. Right now, we keep information on pronunciation in the Important Info section, but it would be really convenient to have this displayed more prominently or closer to the name on the top of the contact record.

  20. Retired next to previous occupation

    Make a way to add if a client is retired while still having their previous occupation listed. Maybe a checkbox or parenthesis next to the occupation at the top of the client page or in the contact details.
