Link Emails to various contacts
I need the ability to link an outgoing email to multiple contacts and/or opportunities and accounts. I am often emailing an insurance company regarding a client's policy (account). The email doesn't connect to the client because the email is not being sent to them, but it may involve that contact, account or opportunity and need to be recorded in those places.

archive email
When we archive an client's email because they don't want to receive bulk email from us maybe the archive email word can change from blue to red to signal an email is archived.

Create functionality so that an email received by another contact in the database could be linked to a different contact.
Create a way to link an email from one contact in the database to another. I.e. I have an insurance specialist who sends quotes and emails about my clients. I want to be able to link HIS email to THEIR record for easy reference.

Add feature to search archived emails by "to" field or "from" field
Currently email archiving only allows for searching off of contact or subject field. We really need to be able to also search off of "to" or "from" field.

ability to delete emails
We would like the ability to delete emails from the client record. There are non-business emails as well as confidential emails to management that should not be available for others to view. We have an employee who is also a client and all their emails are visible in redtail and should not.

the ability to manually link emails to unrelated records in archive email history in database.
save an email to a clients contacts that the clients email is not part of. basically if a client is not in the email correspondence at all can we save the that set of emails to the clients contact record. no email headers match up with contact records based on a matching email address.

There should be a way to insert an image into an email without having to save it as a URL first

Share emails within a team
It would be nice if all members on a specific team had access to all emails inside a contact from any team member, not just their own emails. Only being able to see your own emails makes it harder for teams to work together and to see all communications to and from a contact.

email history default to note: email received or email sent
For any email history to also appear as default as a chronological note as either email received or email sent. A huge portion of our client correspondence is via email. As it stands we either have to copy/paste emails into notes (which defeats the purpose of having emails journal archive) or review both notes and email history to understand the correspondence history of a client, which is redundant. The system as it sits today is both unnecessarily time consuming and encourages mistakes and misses.

Selective email archiving
We have contacts in Redtail that we interact with on a daily basis about business management issues rather than just their financial plans. We want to use email archiving, but cannot have management sensitive emails archived with these individuals (ie our shareholder group). These individuals are clients of the financial advisory service, and we need them in Redtail. We need to be able to exclude certain contacts from the archiving process and yet still interact with them as clients.

Sync Department Email History
Sync department emails to email history. This will provide better organization and cleaner data so vendor "contact card" does not get filled with individual department emails and correspondence within individual department contacts sync with email history within the vendor contact record.

Duplicate email in Email History
Would be helpful if an email coming is sent to multiple users within our team could be consolidated so that the same emails does not duplicate in email history.

Delete an Email in Email history
Clients and advisors are in non-business related programs that information is emailed back and forth. Would like the capablility to somehome delete non-business related emails that go into the client folder.

Email > Archive > Supervision/Compliance screens
Wearing my Chief Compliance Officer hat for a moment: please add Chief Compliance Officer - level screens that comply with SEC supervision requirements (x% sample, keyword flags, etc). We currently pay ERADO for those screens, but I would much rather pay RedTail and have one less place to log in. :)

Duplicates in email history
When linking emails from Outlook to Redtail email history, if I email a client, and copy 3 of my colleagues, the email saves to the contact record FOUR TIMES. Obviously this creates a lot of noise in the email history. Would be awesome if there was a way for it to only save to the TO and not the cc or bcc

Group Access to Email history
Since Redtail can divide access to contacts by "group" level, it would be nice if everyone in the same "group" could see all emails to and from clients in their "group". This way an admin would be able to see a complete history of emails for a client, no matter who sent the email.

We already have the option to link accounts, contacts, and notes to activities. It would be nice to be able to link client email's to a note or activity to link information/completion of tasks.

Add autocomplete for email addresses to CC emails sent from within the CRM
the To: field autocompletes based on contacts in the database but the CC field requires you to manually enter each email address. It would be nice if this autocompleted too.

Add ability to search email *content,* not just subject lines
Redtail archives all of our firm's email communications with clients, but it does not make that information searchable (beyond the Subject line, which is not very useful). While I can search my own emails within my email client, I cannot effectively search for other users' communications.
EXAMPLE: If I need to know if Client A was sent document Z by anyone in our firm, I'd have to ask each user to search their own email client and/or manually review every single email archived in Redtail.
Redtail should also make the message content (including attachments... or at least attachment file names)…
