Set Workflow Step Due Date to a Specific Day of the Week
It would be helpful to not only be able to select x days, weeks, or months before a target date, but to actually select "Friday" before or after target date. Our office for example has to have summaries for a meeting prepped and ready every Friday for the following week.

As you go through a workflow, especially if two team members are working on a particular step, it would be wonderful if the step comments would appear under step notes so that it printed on the summary. This would allow for quick and easy access to why things were done the way they were. Or to be able to add a step note before completing the step. Or, even better yet, to be able to add task notes that had a summary similar to step notes summary.

work on more than one step at a time
I would like to be able to work on more than one step at a time. I have 3 things that need to happen at once that need to be in one work flow and not 3. I have actually made about 6 different workflows to make the process work. Not everything goes along with our timeline, so just cause i am waiting for one item in a step I want to be able to open the rest

Workflow Dates
It would be helpful to have steps run at the same time but with different due dates. I understand you can complete tasks in any order under one step, but tasks can not currently able to be assigned due dates or even start/notification dates.

Create a task competed trigger, versus just a due date trigger, on work flows, to the next assignee to notify their task is now due

workflow task creation date
Add Workflow Task creation date as a field in the task. The field is auto-generated when the Workflow Task is assigned. When a Step is completed and the next set of Tasks is initialized, each of those Tasks should be assigned a 'Task Creation Date'.
When looking at open tasks, it would be good to be able to look at Tasks older than 90 days, 30 days, etc.
It would be nice to also be able to use this to auto-set Due Dates. That is, being able to set a Due Date of '5 days after Task created/assigned'

"Workflows" should have the ability to reoccur the same as "activities" do.

Move workflow tasks within a workflow template from one step to another
Ability to move tasks within a workflow template from one step to an existing step or a new step. Currently, you have to create an entirely new task within the step. Some tasks have detailed information and it would be nice to be able to reserve that info versus retyping or copy/paste.

Show Workflow details when hovering over title
It would be super helpful if we could see the details/notes about a Workflow by hovering over the title on the list of My Workflow Tasks. (Much like you can hover over a task and see notes.) We use workflow templates, so in my list of Workflows, I might see five or more titled "schedule appointment". Redtail could improve functionality by showing details when hovering over each so I can see my notes at a glance, like that I've left a voicemail, waiting for callback, etc without having to click into each workflow to see those status notes. When I complete a task in workflow - the next Assigned To should get a notification
Within a Step - when I complete a Task - if the next task is assigned to a different Role they should receive an email notifying them that they are next to complete a step

The ability to delete workflow steps after a workflow is launched (similar to how you can delete tasks if necessary).

It would be nice if we could view workflow tasks like we do activities and have the option to filter by who assigned to and filter dates. I know there is a workflow report but you have to consistently reset the filters and it is not as user friendly.

Workflow bulk actions for date changes
It would be great to be able to pull up (your) workflows and bulk-action them to a (same) date.....instead of individually moving each one forward/to another date each day. Thanks, Team RedTail!!!

Option to allow steps to be active/triggered on the date they are due regardless if the previous step completed
We need workflow steps not to be hindered by the previous step being uncompleted that the next step isn't triggered for those steps that have a date.
We use the step tasks as reminders on the specified date to run certain reports on that date. If the step before it isn't fully completed, it shouldn't prevent the next step being active on the date it's due. I know you can skip steps with outcomes and there are "ways around" certain things I've read in Retail's comments on similar requests... but that is not what I'm talking about and that doesn't…13 votes -
workflow templates - pin detail to top (not left)
The new templates creations pages have some nice new features but other aspects are terrible, thus ruining the good things. Why on earth would you pin the workflow detail to the left and not have it static when you scroll down? IT wastes half the screen. Please change it to pin to the top or allow the user to choose where it is pinned.

Allow for parallel flows through Workflow with dependencies on Workflow Tasks and not just Steps.
The inability to link Workflow Task dependencies and only dependencies between steps limits the workflow capabilities. Can't start on WF Tasks in the next step until the entire step is complete. Also, allowing for multiple flows through the workflow where WF Steps/Tasks can be done in parallel would be beneficial to real world where multiple sequential paths are frequent and they should be related in the same workflow.

allow editing of completed workflows
Allow us to edit certain aspects of workflows after completed, such as link a contact after completion or edit a typo or add a note to a specific task.

Add automatic actions to workflows
Rather than just add tasks for users to complete, add the ability to update contact fields, account fields, and UDFs automatically after a task has been completed.
