Allow Tasks to be moved between workflow Steps
I understand that the order of Tasks within a single Step is not terribly important (all of a Step's Tasks are assigned at the same time, when the prior step is completed). I, like many other users, would like to be able to re-order them anyway, even if it is merely cosmetic.
But the real issue of concern is the lack of ability to move a Task between workflow Steps. So, if you realize that Task F actually needs to be under Step 3, rather than Step 4, you have to manually re-create it under Step 3, then delete it under Step 4. That process is inefficient and creates opportunities for errors.
The suggestion may be planned, but there is no timeline on this feature being added.
This suggestion is remaining open and can continue to gather votes and comments!

it would be great if we could rearrange the steps in the workflow diagram

When editing a workflow, you get a box that pops up asking if you want to check a box to prevent the page from creating further dialog boxes. When you do so, however, you lose certain functionality.
For instance, I agreed to prevent further pop-ups. Then when I tried to delete a Task from a Step, nothing happened. I refreshed the page, and still nothing happened. I had to close out and re-open the Workflow Templates and my in-progress workflow before I got another one of those "prevent further dialog" pop-ups. This time, I did *not* check the box, and I was then able to delete my Task (though I had to confirm my action in said pop-up).
Of course, if Redtail allowed users to simply *move* Tasks between Steps, I probably wouldn't have even noticed this bug.

I totally agree with this, I also wish you did not have to delete an outcome if you have a typo but could fix in the screen.

Right now you can drag and drop steps, you should be able to drag and drop tasks under those steps as well.

When designing a workflow, if I change the order of steps within the workflow by dragging and dropping a step, it sticks on the screen in the new order, but as soon as I change or save a task or step, it reverts back to the original order. It's not saving the new order that I want... ?!

Would that I could give a thousand votes to this....

When creating workflows, you can use the up/down arrow for steps. Why not put the up/down arrow by all steps and tasks, and be able to move and rearrange any step or task wherever you want it to go?

When doing a workflow you can drag and drop steps but not tasks. Can you please make that available

This would be a big improvement

Another feature that would be nice - the ability to complete workflow tasks out of order.

Also the ability to move them on your calendar. To be able to "rollover" a task that was never completed so that it stays current on the calendar, otherwise it's easy to forget the task is due.

Would like to be able to change the order of Steps, Tasks and Possible Outcomes once we have set them up.

There are several posts to this idea. All have many votes. I hope Redtail can see this suggestion as it would be so helpful!!!

Currently, we can only move a Step using the small black arrows to the left of the Step bubble. I would suggest adding the arrows to the Tasks as well. When creating a workflow, we may edit it a few times till we get it set up just right. When adding a new Task to the workflow Step, it currently adds the Task to the bottom of the Step. Many times we need that newly added Task to be moved towards the top of the list of tasks within that Step. Right now, we have to re-create all the steps in order to get them in the order we need them in. Adding a feature to move Tasks would be VERY helpful!

When creating a Workflow Template, I need to be able to change the order of Tasks in a Step. I need to be able to add Tasks in a Step that has a higher priority than other Tasks.

The order in which we do tasks in a particular workflow has changed. Is there a way to rearrange tasks so that I can add an additional task (which I need to do to separate 2 steps in one task) and then put that in the correct order?

Please allow us to rearrange the workflow tasks in Tailwag just as we can the steps themselves. If you have a number of tasks, and you forget one near the top, you have to redo every task to get the new task at the top.

Workflow tasks aren't able to be moved without rescheduling the calendar activity they are linked to. This doesn't allow individuals to manage their own schedules (example: if they want to complete a task for a client review workflow one day after it is assigned, they can't roll it over).
Similarly, we would like to again have the functionality of editing a single instance of a recurring task without changing every one.

I would like the option to move or reorder a Task within a Step or to move or reorder a Task from one Step to another the same way you can move a Step from lets say the bottom to the top. Or the option to move it to another Step from the drop down button on the Task instead of having to delete it completely. Or even the option to copy the Task from the drop down button to be moved to another step. This will help when building out a workflow in in case we missed something during the white boarding process.
