We have an established team for certain activities and would like the ability to have a default custom permissions setting at the user level. When that user creates an activity, it would be nice to have her team permissions already in place to save a step and to avoid having the activity visible to the whole group.

User should be able to set as a preference, who can view their calendar.

Agreed. This is a constant gripe internally. Everyone can see the client information if you forget to set the permission. Bonus, there is no way to cross reference unless your manually check with a staffer with a higher permission level. No way to visually double check to if you set the correct after you hit save. The phone app doesn't even give Permissions Options so you're screwed if try adding a client, prospect or new 401(k) participant out in the field. You're basically relying on other advisors to notice that your client's confidential information is being broadcast to everyone at the firm. Jim is right; it's very dangerous. Please fix this already.

It's more than laborious. It's dangerous. We permission contacts to certain teams and individuals so that others can't see what is confidential. Yet the program defaults to "Everyone" for Notes and Activities instead of to the Individual or Team selected for the Contact. This needs to be fixed. I one our peolpe forgets to over ride the Default, Everyone can see what is intended to be personal and confidential.

Example of issue is Team X have contact and account permissions applied to a contact. If you create an activity and do not apply privacy options to this then anyone in your database can see the activity and possibly the confidential notes within the activity. This is a problem.

I totally agree. Came here to make the same comment. What is the purpose of even setting a contact permission level, if you are going to default to "everyone" for every note or activity that is scheduled in the future?

I was going to make this exact suggestion. This change should be made ASAP.

Or even to enhance by being able to choose what permission level is the default. It could be a team also this way. Currently it is everyone which may be appropriate for some but not all

When adding a new note or activity, it is laborious to have to select the team that can view an activity or note each time. The viewing permissions should default to the viewing permissions of the contact unless otherwise selected to be different.
