I do not understand why this has not yet been implemented, this is a fantastic idea! Yes, there is a way of doing this but not the most time efficient of course. It has been over ten years since this has been suggested and I would still love to see this happen.

This could be automated. It can be done with a little manual labor, but with the volume of clients we serve, it can be tedious to make sure you get the right "Joe Jones" linked to the opportunity note.

I would love this! It would be such a great shortcut and less time consuming. Redtail can be quite cumbersome going back and forth through different features. It would be great if they populated as well in the Notes section on the contact record.

I was going to utilize the opportunity notes by linking them to the contact as a work around for other RedTail limitations (i.e. not being able to link workflows and activities), but I found out that opportunity notes could not get linked to the contact after all. Now I am stuck with a highly fragmented process. Please help with Sean's idea!

Has there been any work on this? I don't know that it would be a problematic field? Unless deletion of the OPP deletes the note. Then I can see a problem. I believe SalesForce has this feature built in. I love Redtail. Don't make me miss Salesforce.

where there is a summary at the top like their Activities.
Having to "expand" the tree on the left of the screen, then click on Opportunities is a pain.....need a direct link.
Also agree with others on the fact that "all" Opportunity "notes" be visible on the contact record.

I would like the notes that I save within an opportunity to automatically be saved/linked in the contact record notes section. This way all notes that deal with the contact would be available in their main notes module as well as within a specific opportunity.

When you link an opportunity to a contact, the notes should sync up with one another, but they don't, so you have to search between the specific opportunity (if you remember which opportunity it was noted in) and the contact to find the note you're looking for. Depending on the opportunity/client, you may have to search opportunity by opportunity to find a specific note where maybe a "one off" concept was discussed. Right now we are having to create duplicate notes. One in the contact record and One in the opportunity record to make sure "down the road" we can easily retrieve information if we needed to conduct a generic search to find something. Would be nice to be able to enter one note in the opportunity record and be able to retrieve that note in the contact record's note log.

I think all notes should appear in the Notes section of the contact record. Currently, the notes attached to an opportunity are only visible when you have the specific opportunity opened. It would be nice if the Notes section of the contact record indicated if the note was associated with just a note, activity, workflow or opportunity.

It would be great if the opportunities section of redtail was linked to the contacts note section so that any notes made in opportunities would then automatically feed and be captured in the notes section of the contacts redtail page.
