RMD Value & Information section
In the account section, I'd love to have an area specifically for RMD info.
There is the general info section, which duplicates the issue date (listed in the account dates), the cash value and as of date (which duplicates the account assets balance), face value (which duplicates the coverage info), surrender value and as of date, loan balance, asset rebalance and rebalance frequency. Why can't an RMD info section be added, or the general section modified to include 12/31 year end value, RMD value, a check box for auto RMD, and that type of information? I'd love to be able to put their withdrawals (or projected withdrawals) for the year and have the system calculate if they will need to take more, or if their RMD is covered. Also, add a text box for notes, so we can detail if RMD is covered by another IRA accounts withdrawals. Please, make this information available to be added to reports!
I know it can be added in a UDF, but everyone has clients that have to take RMD's. This has got to be a feature that more people want and will use, than duplicating other values or dates already listed in the details section.
The suggestion may be planned, but there is no timeline on this feature being added.
This suggestion is remaining open and can continue to gather votes and comments!

It would be really beneficial to have RMD functionality for qualified accounts. When did they start withdrawals, how much/frequency of the withdrawal, tax withholdings, and a place for extra RMD specific notes.

Most clients have several IRAs and choose to satisfy the RMD from alternating accounts. Tagging the 'RMD satisfied'/ auto, to their birthdate
is not accurate with multiple accounts. More specific detail per individual account is warranted to be useful. Thanks for starting the feature. -

The report is handy to see which clients qualify, but there is still no way to track RMD dates and amounts. Please add a feature that allows tracking of RMDs, especially reoccurring distributions.

RMD tracking in Tailwag would be extremely helpful. Right now, we have to store all of our tracking information in the Imp Info or on a separate spreadsheet. Clients can have 3 or 4 RMDs to track and it would be a lot easier if we could do it in the CRM.
Plus, we could finally include all RMDs on reporting - like beneficiary IRAs where the client is under 70.5. The current RMD report won't include these type of RMD scenarios.

Please provide the option to track RMDs in the contact profiles, perhaps in the Know Your Client section. Many of our clients have recurring distributions set up, but even for those who don't, it would be extremely helpful to have this information recorded and tracked in Redtail. So for instance, when viewing a client in Redtail, I could view whether or not the client has RMDs, when the last distribution occurred and the amount, and see on one page any and all past and future RMDs have and will take place.
Being able to report on all RMDs taken during a time period (not specific to one client) would be useful if RMD tracking was available.

We need this feature, HIGH PRIORITY
It would be helpful if it were based of contact birthdate, but also must have the ability to be assigned manually because of Inherited IRA accountsTHANK YOU!

We really need this feature! Not just for RMD's and Inherited IRA's but it would be nice to select other important birthdates as well (60 and 65 for instance).

Please add a box that checks automatically for an RMD for a client that is over 70 1/2 and a box to check manually for a client that has an inherited IRA. Just doing a birthdate search does not catch the clients that have inherited accounts requiring a distribution. A report that could then be run based on this information would be extremely helpful. Thank you.

I concur! Software is about saving time and this would be a great asset to all who have clients that are approaching RMD time.

Need a way to show that RMD's have been set up for IRA accounts.
If they are systematic and what month they will come out. -

It would be helpful if the age was shown with a decimal point. like 70.5, 59.5, 30.3, 41.8 etc., etc.

It would be very helpful to create custom reminders to trigger when a client turns 70 1/2 for RMD's or 65 for Medicare Etc. You could probably create the reminders using the same steps taken when making quick lists. An example would be to reminder me on the calendar when this criteria matches on any of my clients the following:
- Type: Contact > Field: Age > Operand: Equal to > Value: 65.

Please add this feature - it seems crazy that this has been requested for almost 4 years and nothing has been done. Huge consideration in switching over to Redtail.

On an older database I used to use I would put each year's RMD information in a different color ink so you could easily go back to prior years to find out RMD information if needed, and not get confused with the current year information. One year might be purple, another blue, etc.

Add the ability to track if a client has funded their IRA for the current and prior year as well as the amount. The same feature also for if a client has withdrawn money from an IRA for the year. I would like to see it be able to be linked to the accounts section for the client as well and searchable.

You should be able to run a report based simply on accounts checked as "Tax Qualified" without having to list a specific Type. This will help substantially with RMDs.
