Allow the option for automations to trigger on the scheduled date of activities rather than on the date of their creation
Currently if you want to set up an automation that triggers by an added activity the only option is to have the automation complete when the activity is initially created. With this system it is impossible to set an automation up for a future date.
I suggest that an option is made for automations to be triggered on the scheduled date of an activity as opposed to only allowing the automation to occur when the activity is initially created.
The suggestion may be planned, but there is no timeline on this feature being added.

I would like Automatons to offer a future date to when the automation would be completed. My specific scenario is that when a client closes their accounts and I mark them as an "Inactive" and "Ex- Client" I want an automation task to be set up to email me in 6 yrs to delete the client out of the system. Or the next step beyond that would be for the automaton task to just delete the ex-client without me having to go back to them.

I would like to be able to create workflows that are based off a future activities scheduled date. Not the date the activity was created. We use workflows for many of our prospect and new client onboarding processes. Part of these processes are certain meetings and ideally the workflow would based on the date of that meeting not the date the meeting was created. An example of a workflow would be:
Automation: New Prospect Client Added
Start New Prospect Workflow
1. Call New Prospect to Schedule appointment
2. Send intro packet
3. Confirm appointment
4. Initial Meeting
etc....Ideally the target date would be the date of the Introduction Meeting but as of right now there is no way to set that up since all workflows are based on a timeframe based off the workflow start date.The due dates should be dynamic and adaptable.

I agree with this...an automated workflow would be great to be triggered when a future date arrives, not when it's created.

It would be really helpful if you could link automation to activities based on when it begins not just when it is created.
Specifically in the Workflow connection category. We have various activities scheduled fairly consistently throughout the year, and I don't want all of those to show open workflows, but it would be nice to have it start relative to when the activity is assigned to begin (or have the activity as the completion date and but not start until it nears the time when part of it is due)

We would like to have our annual consults activities automatically start a workflow 30 days out from the date of the consult. Unfortunately, if we add the consult as an activity now for a date in the future over 30 days (i.e. June 20, 2018) it will activate the workflow now instead of 30 days out. We need to be able to have the workflow activate via the automation 30 days out instead of immediately when the activity is scheduled.

an automation that with a "do this action" that is a schedule activity for the next day, 5 days later, whatever you chose the timeframe
