  1. Retirement Date - this would be great to see on the client's contact card.

    Create a field for Retirement Date. This would be great to see on the contact card, where we have listed their phone numbers, address, etc. Or somewhere easy to see on their client homepage

  2. firm level admin

    There should be a way to have the management team, compliance, etc to be able to view all records in Redtail without having to create a team. Teams are great for advisor level restrictions, but it makes no sense for management or compliance to have to be given permissions to view clients.

  3. Client Since calculation

    The Client Since field automatically calculates how long someone has been a customer, which is mostly nice except for Former Customers and Deceased customers. It would be good for the calculation to freeze when a Date of Death is entered; I also saw that in 2015 a Client Termination Date was added and that doesn't seem to exist anymore; it would be nice if this was still there and also froze the Client Since calculation.

  4. It is not necessary to create a new empty record for every name we put in the "employer" field for our clients.

    Every time we list an employer name in a client profile it creates a record for that name. We now have over 1000 empty records in our contacts because of this.

  5. banner at the top of the client's page

    When we put in a date of death, a banner appears at the top of the
    client's page. Can we have this happen when we put in a termination
    date as well??

  6. Can User Defined Fields Automatically Show Up On A New Contact Page

    When we add a new contact to Redtail, is it possible to have our User Defined Fields automatically show up and be blank on the contact page? This way, I don't have to add every single user defined field separately (we have a lot of them) and can just edit the field with new information! This would be MUCH more efficient.

  8. Edit Client Record

    Would like the ability when editing a client record and adding information to be able to edit it all on one screen (like when adding a new contact record). Would make it much easier rather then having to flip between the different sections that need to be updated.

  9. local time for Canadian contacts

    The local time feature is helpful, but does not appear on our Canadian Contacts.

  10. Creating a Contact Link

    I would like to have a link I could send to a client and have them fill out all of their personal information. It would then create a contact that would be reviewed and approved to be added into my database. This would eliminate the need to send a client a form or have someone call with the information to transpose the data back into Redtail. Certain fields should be required to enter / create the contact.

  11. Flag client with diminished capacity and vulnerable

    We are starting to get clients with diminished capacity and would like to have a way to flag this similar to deceased or birthday banner. We want to make sure this can be identified easily for a contact.

  12. Relationships

    The option of only "Spouse" in the relationship field isn't enough. (AND, listing someone that is a 'partner' under the "Membership" category is insulting.) So many people today live together in a relationship but are not married - especially in states that do not allow gay marriages! There needs to be an option called 'Partners' and then instead of it saying 'married to' it would say 'partner'. Without being able to see this relationship at the top of the contact makes this very hard to manage. Mailings have to be done manually AND it makes the chance of 'misspeaking' when…

    Is there a possibility of being able to capture the documentation needed for Due Diligence and link it to the appropriate Business Contact? I know we can create the contact and upload to CRM documents, but those are sometimes difficult to sift through. If we could select a company and then click on Due Diligence on the left and see the offerings and then the documents that would be excellent.
    Furthering that idea is to identify vendors/sponsors from the get go when entering them as a contact. A simple filter question of “Is this a [carrier, vendor, sponsor] that requires…

  14. Spouse address doesn't meet quicklist criteria

    When a spouse is added via the initial individual contact add screen the shared address does not link properly to the spouse so they are not pulling into Quicklists with criteria based on address. Please properly link the shared address in the back end so that both family members pull into queries. Thank you

  16. search bar

    I used to be able to enter a phone number or address in the search bar and the client would come up. It doesn't seem to do that now, did you take that away? I found it very helpful (esp when caller ID shows only the number.) If it is no longer available I would like to suggest it be re-added.

  17. Quicklists > Please include UDF's!

    The QuickLists and UDF's (User Defined Fields) are essential to get RedTail to work for us... but then the UDF's are missing from the Quicklists! Please let us use UDF's in the Quicklists!

  18. Segmentation Field

    It would be really nice to have a "Segmentation" field (customizable) so that we can simply input the segmentation of that client there, rather than having to use custom status, category, keywords, or tags. I can't imagine it would be very difficult but would be a much appreciated convenience.

  19. contact page layout

    I just think you're wasting so much space on this page. Too much clicking to see data that I need. Think about what data points an FA would most likely want to see on a contact and display that right away. Hint: spouse, kids, topics in common/points of interest. These are conversation starters.

  20. We like to see important information at a glance.

    Can we have an option for a self fill trust date? We use date and attorney initials. This would work best for us in the Client Details section.

    Or in the least, an Important Information Box on the main page.
