Using Nicknames to Search for Contacts when Linking to Notes and Activities
When adding a note and wanting to copy to another contact, "copy to another contact" field will not pull clients by nickname, only last name or formal name However in the contact search field, one can search by formal name, nickname, partial name. Very inconsistent!
The suggestion may be planned, but there is no timeline on this feature being added.
This suggestion is remaining open and can continue to gather votes and comments!

This would be soooo helpful! We have several clients that go by their nickname, but not all employees, or new employees, know what the client's formal name is. So when they do a search, the nickname is not found. Frustrating!

If I have a client with the name John 'John' W. Smith and John 'Jonny' W. Smith Jr., when I go to link a beneficiary to an account, or owner or insured, it comes up with just John Smith. I have to guess which John to use. It would be nice to not have to guess. Thanks!

When searching for a contact, trying to add contact to an activity, or search for an employee by typing in their employer/company, we are having a lot of difficulties. You cannot find employee by searching employer/company unless that company name is in the clients name/title or email address. This seems very silly and insufficient- if you search an employer/company, ALL employees who have that company listed as an employer should come up- not just the ones with the name in their email address. Also, nicknames should be included in any search portal too, not just the top search bar. A large number of our clients go solely by nicknames (and some we don't even truly know their legal names other than for paperwork purposes). We used to be able to search by nicknames in any way shape and form, and now we are being told we cannot. Change it back!

I just tried to add an activity for a client. #1, it does not prompt you to add a contact... that option is way over on the right side of the screen making it very easy to forget to designate a contact. Then when tried to add the contact, only nicknames and last names were listed. So I had about 3-4 John Whites to choose from. I need to see John A. White, Jr. And John A. White, III. And so on.
