Show the Details of the Actions done on the Timeline
It would be very handy from a DoL documentation process to add a the ability to see who added notes in the timeline detail so that it easy to find should we get audited
The suggestion may be planned, but there is no timeline on this feature being added.
This suggestion is remaining open and can continue to gather votes and comments!

Timeline should include which contact (currently it only shows the notes without referencing which client)

We need to be able to have a timeline for changes to the items in the Contact Detail Section. Someone changing the date of birth or tax id number is critical information to have for accountability. Please change this.

Show contact status changes on timeline. If any field of the contact details section changes a note on the timeline would be beneficial, but specifically their status.

Need timeline to have feature to show ALL items as preference instead of always having to manually select this option.

In the 'Updates' quick link at the top of the 'Today's Overview' page, there is no reference to the client record to which the change was made. For example, update will say simply: 'Jane added a new phone number' with a link to the phone number, but no reference to a contact. We have automations set up based on changes to contact information, and when a workflow is assigned based on an automation, it turns into a hunt to see what change was made. Is it possible to add reference to the contact, either in the automation or in the 'Updates' section?

I could not agree more!!!!!!! Most of my communication with clients is via email and not having it in the Timeline is really frustrating. Please, please, please move this up in the priorities and add emails to the Timeline!

Most of my documentation is through emails. Adding emails to the Timeline is a must! Having an 'email filter' that only shows changes/updates to email addresses is misleading and frustrating. Please add emails to the Timeline.

YES!! this would be great! To see all activities, notes, workflows and emails in the contact's timeline.

Agree! Workflow steps, completed activities and opportunity correspondence need to show up in the timeline. System use to have the workflow and activities show up in the timeline. Even when you show "all" in the timeline it does not give you the individual steps that happened without another 5 clicks or so. It is so hard to click numerous times to see what is going on with a client when you a few short moments when a client is on the phone. This needs changed ASAP.

Our office would also like to see documents added to the list of things we can see in the timeline. If Imaging could somehow be integrated with this, the timeline would be more of a "newsfeed," instead of a notes feed. It would be best if you could make the view of the timeline completely customizable (and have it save!) as it seems clear different parts of the CRM are vital to be seen on contact records by different offices.

If I could give this 50 votes - I would! I was excited when I first saw the "timeline" on a clients's contact page and seeing the filter options. However, when searching for an email, discovered the timeline was only showing the date that was from several months back and did not list any of the emails in history.
When you see "Timeline" as Michelle points out, one thinks that EVERY notation throughout the different portions of the system would be included for referencing and not having to jump between areas..

I agree 100%.
I'd also echo Michelle's comment about the notes in completed activities. They used to show up as notes in the previous version.

Also the timeline needs to show completed activities and the notes associated with them. These don't currently show either.

The Timeline concept is a great idea, but currently it is a bit misleading. One would think that every notation throughout different portions of the system, for example Workflow step or task notes, and Emails to/from the cilent, would show in the timeline. Currently they don't. Including these items would make the timeline one comprehensive place to scroll through and see the communications and actions of the client relationship, and would thus be very helpful.
