  1. Automation

    The option to update/set field for UDF does not currently exist in Redtail. You can set a field with the trigger being "Activity Added", but the options of the field to update is limited to:
    Activity Type
    Activity Category
    Activity Importance
    Activity Priority
    So does not include a UDF field.

    Also, we would want the trigger to be Activity Category marked as completed - not added, so the UDF field would be updated once Activity was completed. Otherwise we would have to remember to delete, if Activity is cancelled. Currently a UDF as Review date field for each year. We…

  2. color text in activity

    Would love to be able to change the color of the text within an activity. We make our notes for action items after meetings and I would love to be able to add a note in red out next to it that each items was completed.

  3. reports on category and type of activity

    Please, Please Please give us the ability to create a customizable report that we can sort by activity category and type. The data is there but you do not give us access to it.
    This would be transformative in reporting and managing client service.

  4. Whole office's activities under "Things to do" on homepage/today page, not just what is assigned to me

    I'd like to be able to see all activities in the office that need to be completed that day right under "Things to do" on the today page. I am the main advisor in the office and I want to be able to see what tasks need to completed for the whole office that day. Unless it is assigned to me I can only see my tasks. I need to make sure everyone is completing the tasks assigned to them and rather not have to go into the calendar to see it.

  6. Viewing Account # on Activities Dashboard

    When viewing the list of open activities it would be EXTREMELY useful if the linked account to the activity would show. Personally, the location feature is not useful to my firm. Either in place or besides that would be very convenient.

    As of now, the only way to view the account linked to the activity is by clicking on the activity and opening it.

  7. Scheduling meetings

    Force a choice of attendee rather than default user as attendee. Don't allow appt. to be made until choice is made. It will force you to make sure that the attendee is correct and not user.

  8. Is there a way to send a real-time notification to a person who opens an activity that you are editing at the same time?

    It seems that more than one person can be in an activity at the same time. It also seems that if one person is editing a particular activity and another person opens the same activity to edit, then their edits do not get saved. Is there a way to send a real-time notification that someone else is currently editing that activity at that time?

  9. When "Save, Complete, and New" Activities, display calendar

    When marking a task completing and adding new, related follow up Activities:

    1) you can't see what your calendar is to properly schedule the new Activity. If the "related new Activity" might be time-block, phone call, etc., you have to blindly schedule the day/time

    2) When you click "Save, Complete, and New", you can only add 1 more related Activity; there should be the ability to add as many as you'd like: follow up calls, tasks, time blocking, new meetings,

  10. Adding a strikethrough option similar to how you can bold and underline text

    I think it would be helpful to add a strikethrough text option just like how there is a bold text and underline text option. This would allow you to strikethrough the next when you have completed a step in the description box of an activity.

  11. Automatically SAVE INPUT and do it WITHOUT CLOSING the activity or note or whatever is beingupdated.

    According to this forum, this suggestion (posted in 2016, 2017, 2018) was completed. Funny, since it's our biggest daily problem. We lose data so often that we have to keep a word doc open in the background during the day to enter notes and then find the time to cut and paste to Redtail. Counterproductive? You bet. Keeping notes for our client records is the main reason we purchased RedTail and it's proving less reliable than Outlook Notes. Finding the time at the end of each day to cut and paste into RedTail is ... difficult. so many words came…

  12. Please add back the task repeat options. I would like to set up a task to repeat yearly on a specific day, not date.

    You recently took away several task repeating options, please add them back so I can choose how often and what day to repeat our tasks. The only option now is to repeat on the exact same date each year. This doesn't work since that date could be a Sat or Sun on the following year.

    Example of an incident that occurred...I knew when I left yesterday that I had no outstanding activities. This morning I didn't check my past due. An advisor had tagged me in an activity yesterday that I was unaware of.

  14. Reoccurring activity to occur on the first business day of the month, etc

    I would like a way to have a reoccurring activity to happen on the first business day of the month, quarter, etc.

  15. Add the ability for a staff member to accept a task assigned to them

    I would like the ability to have a team member click 'accept' when a task is assigned to them and then a notification is sent out letting me know. This way I would know that the team member has at least seen the task assigned

  16. Telephone support and user feedback

    Does Redtail REALLY want feed back? Then have your telephone support representatives input the suggestions we make during our calls. I don't know why software companies insist that the user take their time to search through hundreds of previously submitted suggestions in order to make or vote for a suggestion. This approach is archaic and may have worked back in the day when your users were computer techs offering tech recommendations. But today the vast majority of your users are financial professionals like myself.

  18. allow for a follow up to be created when you complete an activity.

    allow for a follow up to be created when you complete an activity, something similar to the new notes follow up where you check the box and it carries the information forward with the new follow up activity. sometimes we complete an activity but it creates another follow up and a new activity but we have to go back and totally recreate it.

  19. Activity Owner vs. Attendee Permissions - Prevent Unauthorized Editing of Activities

    We would like to see an ability for "lock editing" on activities so that *Only the person who created the activity can make changes. All users and attendees can view, but only the creator (or designated user (s)) can edit.

    There needs to be a way to set permissions on an activity for users…

    For example, I need my co-workers to See my activities, but I do Not want them to have the ability to Edit my entries.
