Add note added as trigger for automations
In automations if you can please add an option under triggers for adding notes much like the trigger for Activities

workflow automation
Automation options exist currently to start up a workflow upon certain triggers (ie. a certain status created/updated). It would be nice if the criteria could identify more complex (if/then) updates to narrow down specific changes to trigger additional workflows (ie. status update from "comprehensive client" to "tax client" triggers a particular workflow vs any contact status update to "inactive" triggers another workflow).

Automation that would Trigger Roles being Populated upon Adding Servicing Advisor
Upon entering a Servicing Advisor/Writing Advisor in contact record, RT would automatically populate the Roles field (of the 3 individuals for that Servicing/Writing Advisor's team). It is double work now to enter Servicing Advisor/Writing Advisor, then go in and manually complete the Roles fields for every new client record entered.

Add more Automation Triggers
It would be nice to have the following workflow triggering event.
1. Account Status Change - If an account is marked closed it would be great to trigger a workflow.

Automation within a workflow based on outcome
It would be helpful to setup automations based on a separate workflow outcome. For instance, we have an automation setup that starts our new client workflow whenever the contact is changed from prospect to client. Within that new client workflow, there is a step asking if the client signed up for full financial planning. If yes, there should be a way to automatically trigger our financial planning workflow.

Activity Template Automation
Please add the automation action type to be able to assign activity templates as well as note templates. Also, add activity completed trigger to automation.

Please work on the Automation.
Either allow it to be customized or add many more triggering events.
-Change in writing or servicing advisor to trigger a notification to that advisor.
-Workflow completed should be able to trigger another workflow or notification.
-A specific workflow outcome to trigger a new workflowand so many others.....why not just open the automation to all the categories offered or created?

Automation Based on Client Marital Status Change
Add "Contact Marital Status Change" as a trigger event for automations. That way we can trigger a workflow to see if the contact wishes to change their beneficiaries, send a sympathy or congratulations card (depending on whether their status changed to widowed or to married), and contact the client to see if they would like to update their financial plan.

Trigger on dates/ repeating schedule
Workflows would be much improved if it were possible to set them to launch on a systematic/scheduled basis. Ideally, workflow tasks would not be assigned to someone until the workflow is triggered per the set schedule.
For example, client meetings, annual client events, compliance, and other repeatable processes could be put on autopilot rather than having to remember to manfully launch workflows. This functionality has existed in other CRMs for years now, and it's disappointing that it's lacking here...

Automation for Linked Contacts in Family
It would be great to have the ability to create an automation for one client based on a change in another client's contact record. For example: a client passes away and their status is changed to deceased. Based on that change an automation would add a workflow to the surviving spouse's contact record. Since different tasks need to be taken for the deceased and the surviving client, it would be helpful if a workflow could be added for them as well.

Add Zapier option to update Contact Note
Currently, with Zapier, Redtail can only add a contact, an activity, or an opportunity. We NEED the ability to update contact records with Zaps. That way when a contact opens an email, signs up for an event, unsubscribes from a list, (the options are endless) it can trigger an automatic note in Redtail without us having to handwrite hundreds of "action taken" notes. This feature exists with Salesforce and is long overdue for those of us trying to automate as much as possible.

Add the Automation Condition field - Created By
Please add the Created By field for the automation condition.
This way I can create a template for permissions that says to assign a certain permission to a Contact/Note/Activity if it was created by a specific user.
This would completely automate all of the permissions in my database for the 20+ users we have.
Also please add the action for when notes are created.

Enable/Disable Birthday Reminder
You need to add way more automation triggers and activities that an automation can launch. For instance, the ability to be able to add or remove a birthday reminder would be useful. There are loads more that people have suggested, you just need to look.

Have an automation to set Roles based on Writing Advisor
When adding a new contact and selecting the Writing Advisor, there should be an automation that will add the roles for that Writing Advisor. When setting workflows by roles, the workflows go into never never land if the roles are not in the contact record yet.

Add automation trigger based on COMPLETION, allowing delayed activity assignment as action
Automation triggered by COMPLETION of certain activities/events. For example: The completion of a client review triggers an activity for a user 75 days later. The newly created activity is a task to call/email that client for their next review. The current method (creation of activity) does not account for delays and reschedules.

automated workflow trigger seminar
I would love a trigger for when I add a seminar to our calendar. It would be very helpful, so I can put reminders in about when we need to pay invoices, mail out letters, etc.

Set up an automation so that that a message is automatically sent to clients on their birthday and on their anniversary
send out an automatic birthday wish to each client on their birthday? I would like it to go automatically to the client on their birthday
