duplicate contact report
The duplicate report should have additional header choices such as social security number and Date of birth that way you don't need to go individually into those records to figure out if they are duplicates. Also once you combine contacts, they should not stay highlighted. The page should automatically refresh. It is a waste of time to manually refresh or to manually unclick each highlighted record you just combined.

Linking spousal activities and notes
There should be a way to link all previous notes and activities to a spouse, even if they are added years later.

Hover for activity to see description on the contact screen
When in the Activities tab for our entire database, you are able to hover over the activity and a small popup window displays the description of the activity. I would like the same functionality when you are on an individual contact page viewing activities. It saves a lot of clicks.

Retirement date alert
My office is adding in all clients retirement date, and it would be nice to be able to get an alert for upcoming client retirement date so that a manual activity does not have to be created.

workflow report bulk actions
Please allow bulk selection/changing/actions on the Workflow Report and Workflow Task report. For example, being able to select multiple and completing them all at once

Add/Remove Activity Attendees in Bulk
Currently, users can only Reassign attendees, which has the effect of removing ALL current attendees.
Users need a way to add/remove particular attendees from activities in Bulk, similar to how Permissions works.
This will help with users who are being disabled, and their activities to be a reassigned to another person, without replacing any other attendees on those said activities.

Bulk UDF Additions
When setting up an account, it would be very helpful and time-saving to select UDFs from a list and add them all at once, then go back and edit them with the needed information.

being notified when entering a contact that is a duplicate
I receive about 10 leads a month from a marketing lead source. As soon as I receive a lead, I immediately enter into RT by first name, last name, email address and phone #.
There have been many times that I would receive a duplicate lead (without knowing or remembering) from the past. I wish that RT would inform me when a duplicate contact is being entered, specifically by email and/or phone #. I understand RT only informs of duplicate by EXACT first name, last name and tax id. Please considering updating and allowing at least email to be included…15 votes -
A global setting that would put spouses name in the Additional Linked Contact field automatically
We are selection the spouse's name with every married client for the Additional Linked Contact field. What if there was a Global Setting the defaulted the spouse into that field. You could always delete it if you did not want the note copied to her contact.

Bulk Actions for Accounts
If you run a report for accounts or pull up accounts by type you are not able to do any bulk actions except export. I would like to be able to bulk delete closed accounts, or bulk edit account sections such as account type, account manager, account company instead of having to do it on an individual basis.

Important Information Banner
It would be a super helpful feature to have an Important Information Banner automatically pop up when visiting a clients page. This could be a helpful feature for stating information like:
- Client is hard of hearing
- Clients' name is pronounced....
- Client does not want reviews e-mailed to them, only mailed.This would mimic the green banner that shows when its a clients birthday or the red banner that shows that a client is deceased.
This Important Information banner could be yellow or orange to separate it from the above two features.

Be able to remove account types we don't use
I am all for clean data. We are creating a Redtail Style Guide right now. The section for how to label accounts is unnecessarily long because we have to list account types we can't delete and mark them 'DO NOT USE'. It also makes navigating to the account type we actually need take longer than it needs to. Please let us clean those up (and any other field where you have undeletable options).

Integration with Holistiplan would be great for know your client, tax rate information, marginal taxes, income, AGI and more

Add Types of Accounts (Insurance/Investment)
There are too many insurance fields under an account when we primarily have linked investment accounts. It would help clean things up if we could click "add a new account" and then choose "Investment" or "Insurance" to see different lists of fields.
Coverage info, BICE info, etc does not apply to our investment accounts, but rep code, systematic transactions in/out, bank of record fields would.

add ability to sort / filter activities by a contact's status or contact's category (e.g. segment)
we have our clients segmented into 4 categories and it would be really helpful to be able to look at activities, especially past due activities by client segment. If we could filter the past due activities by contact category that would allow us to to see what outstanding activities remain by client service tier
